Kalapana is the home of a large local Hawai'ian family, and they are the keepers of culture and aloha. Another great feature is that you can take a scenic half mile stroll to the ocean whilst enjoying your smoothie.

For many years this amazing place was in my neighborhood. The owner is so kind and friendly. The I've cream was always a favorite of my children's and Thier smoothies were the perfect company on a walk to the beautiful black sands of kaimu. I highly suggest everyone stops there on any trip to the big island. The fresh drinks amazing atmosphere and aloha spirit is what the big island is all about.

Kalapana Smoothie Shack is Always my Favorite place to get a smoothie, acai bowl, or even a bagel and coffee depending on the time of day.
