If you're looking for Chinese food, this is the spot! If you are going for hamburgers (hamburger steak/loco moco), then just know going to taste like char siu. Even the brown gravy tastes like char siu. The service is above and beyond in the front, but they don't control what goes on in the back.... Chinese food A+ "American" or local type food still going taste like Chinese food. Do what you will with that info

Best comfort food in Pahoa! Been going here for a couple years - we live just down the road. Very friendly staff. Food is consistently delicious.

I don't know who in the world is running this place but, newsflash, mac salad or white rice is NOT amain course are you insane? Mac salad isn't even Chinese food how are you trying to pass that off as a main course in your 1 and 2 choice combo plates?Literally EVERY Chinese that offers these combo plates its fried rice or chowmein and then your choices. That's what the Convo plates are literally everywhere.....and You guys still obviously have chowmein and fried frice but because covid happened and you shut down your hot bar you cant put them in a box now unless I purchase it all separately? Can you explain how that makes sense? You guys absolutely ruined your combo plates. And how have you STILL not brought back your hot food bar since covid started.....why? That's literally what this place was centered around. It's been 4 years people.....

It was good. Service was fast. It is just like L and L BBQ. The place was pretty empty. Quite but clean.

A good restaurant to be sure, the food was good, but not excellent tasting.First, I would say that the service is great, the employees are very kind and friendly, they patiently answered all of our questions about the large variety of plates they had to offer. We tried 3 different plates, and the serving sizes are generous.I requested a "mixed salad" instead of the mac' n cheese, and rice, which came included in my order, I'm not sure what was "mixed" about it, considering that the 3 tomato slices were laid across a bed of iceberg lettuce. The only salad dressing they had was a ranch dressing. If you like ranch, then I guess you are in luck!Their hot mustard sauce is OK, it tastes like watered down wasabi mixed with regular yellow mustard.Their fish sauce/ tartar sauce was really good on the seafood combo plate.

Ordered lemon chicken combo. Chicken crust and chicken was hard not moist at all seemed as if chicken had been reheated many times. Rice was cold clump could hardly get fork in it. Completely tasteless

One of the best values on the big island. Big island food at mainland prices. This restaurant is small with about 10 booths Inside. It doesn't pull much of a sit in and dine crowd. Most are calling in orders for pickup. They have a website that you can put in order as well. For dine in, there is no view but the food is good and really reasonably priced. You can easily eat under $10 here as of April 2023. The food quality is as good as any of the other Hawaiian plate sort of restaurants we tried on big island. For the size they have a pretty big menu. And you'll likely save $5 per meal here - for a family of 4, $20 savings per meal will really add up.

The food was great and the employees were really nice and friendly. The food doesn't take too long to get, usually about 15 minutes, and they have they have a nice little inside setting with tables and chairs like a diner. It's nice to have options in Pahoa, and this place will always be a go-to of mine for a good meal:)

We only had the egg flower soup and it was good. It took awhile and there wasn't really anyone there. When I asked about the egg flower soup the guy at the front didn't know if it was the same as egg drop soup.. that seemed weird to me but it is the same thing.

Stopped in as I was heading to the very good fish n' chips shop a few doors down. Grabbed some char sui and dumplings and both were above average. I was blown away by the huge variety of foods and really want to go back and try more - cake noodle dishes, stir frys, crispy spicy calamari (that looks like 5-spice to me from the picture), soups. It goes on and on... Service was great - the woman who helped me at the counter was sweet and fun and made me want to come back to try more stuff. If you're in the area and want to try the local take on Chinese food, you'll find something for everyone here.
