Everything was frozen, or pre cooked. Absolutely flavorless garbage. I spat out 90% of my meal and wish I would have ate anything but this trash. I would bet money they purchased their food frozen, or freeze it themselves for days/

A great place to dine while looking at a living volcano. I also like the food here. However, there is a bit of a wait at the entrance to be guided. The price isn't bad so it's not burdensome.Breakfast is buffet style only.

Another lunch where so much goes poorly. Must have waited 20 minutes for a table.. Ignored most of that time. Just ignored! Finally sat, no water (it's 80 out), no server. Sticky table top. Waiting. Eventually got drinks, surprisingly good. Food came.....eventually. Burger was good, fish & chips "icky", fries OK. Paying was, of course, slow. Almost 2 hours. Needs better staffing. Cannot recommend.

The view of the crater was cool but the food wasn't good. The fish didn't taste fresh and everything else wasn't that good either and was way too expensive. There are better restaurants there.

The view and the staff were spectacular! The atmosphere was excellent. Too bad the food did not match! The shrimp, steak and chicken were all a little over done. Do not regret eating there... simply wish the food was up to par! And, no, not all of the tables have a great view of the Volcano.

This was the absolute worst experience I've had at a restaurant in the 10 days I've been on Big Island and the 7 years I've lived in Hawaii. I also never write reviews so that should tell you how bad this was. I don't know what was worse...the food or the service. Waited like 10 minutes before waitress even took our order and right from the start she gave us attitude like everything we were asking was an inconvenience. Food was overcooked and bland. I ordered a burger because I thought it would be hard to mess up but I was wrong. It was literally and easily the worst burger I've had since I can remember and it's not even close. I'm surprised this place has 3.5 stars. I haven't even gone inside the park yet and I'm already in a bad mood. No view is worth bad food and bad service. If you want to enjoy your time it's not worth the risk of coming here.

We were excited to eat at The Rim restaurant at The Volcano House in Volcanoes National Park. The ambiance and views are amazing. There was a stunning sunset before the clouds rolled in. A musician played an enjoyable assortment of music. It was a little loud to visit, but overall a great ambiance. Landon was a great server, very personable. Sadly, our food was sub-par. Cold steaks and dry chicken. Landon did offer to place a new order for our cold steaks, but we had already waited 45 minutes and were getting tired from a long day of sightseeing by that point. Our reservation was at 6:15 PM. We got right in, but the food took about 45 minutes from the time we ordered and was not great. The tuna appetizer was literally 4 slices of tuna for almost $25. My daughter did have a good chicken pasta. I read good reviews of this restaurant, but we did not think the food was worth the price.
