Ariel (Cook) and Stacey (Host) are a fantastic team. I’m a regular customer and always enjoy the clean and welcoming vibes. I got the Oxtail Soup and the Beef Ribs Curry for my husband. WOW!! So ONO. Savory and the meat literally fell off the bone. Highly, recommend both dishes. A big MAHALO to Ariel and Stacey. ??

Vegetarian options: Host Stacey is knowledgeable about all the dishes and can recommend a vegetarian option to the customers liking.

Parking: Parking lot fronting restaurant in a mall like setting.

Kid-friendliness: Spacious dining area for families, individuals and couples. Everyone can enjoy their meal in a family type of vibe setting without feeling interrupted or claustrophobic.

My first visit was negative to say the least. May have been multiple contributing factors thus this review should be viewed in the context of my experience only. We had a 45 minute wait after we placed our order. Contributing factors? We ate during lunch? There was one staff member taking orders and one person cooking. Much like a fast food restaurant except there appeared to be only two employees. You ordered and picked up at the counter yet staff was totally overwhelmed. We ended up asking that our meal be packaged because of the slow service we were cutting the time short. We doubled checked on the forks and napkins to find out neither had been included with the food. Tables were full, line moved slow to place the order-again we go back to the one person in front.I didn’t find anything spectacular about the food. The food wasn’t bad however there was nothing in the taste that would make you want to come back for the Pad Thai that I had.My first experience was mediocre to negative with nothing above average.

The food was good, as I had ordered the vegetable Pad Thai. It was nice and spicy, just how I like it. However, the hours of operation is not accurate at all. I have tried over several days to come during their noted hours of operations and they were always closed. I have even called prior to visiting and was told that they would be open after 4:30pm but after arriving and checking, they were closed and no one came to the door to open it. I just wish their hours were accurate.

They are almost never open when they are supposed to be. Slack kitchen crew with little concern for their appearance. Their Kona kitchen is far better….

LOVE this place! BEST orange chicken and lilikoi chicken and the beef Pho! Wow. The broth tastes amazing! Also, great atmosphere and everyone that works here is the SWEETEST. Fair prices too esp for here.

Actually the top two worst thai I've had. There staff is nice and the restaurant is beautiful but that can't help bad food. Save yourself the heartbreak of ruining your favorite dish. Other than location and atmosphere this place has nothing to offer. There's a thai spot in town I've been going to for about 10 years I thought this place might live up to but its incomparable. If you like Asian fusion this place might be for you but if you're here for thai just go to the other spot in old pahoa.

This place is amazing! The portions are very big, the lunch specials are super cheap and the food is delicious! I travelled asia in the last months and the pad thai here tastes exactly the same than in thailand. The woman who workes here is very nice and kind :)

Love the whole meal. Huge portions, absolutely fabulous flavor. Best place to buy a meal to bring to a potluck to share with my friends - everyone enjoys the food. Its great to have you in the Puna Kai!
