If you're on the hunt for authentic Jamaican cuisine with a Hawaiian twist, look no further than Jr's Jamaican Jerk in Wahiawa! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the tantalizing aroma of traditional spices and flavors that transport you straight to the heart of Jamaica.I had the pleasure of indulging in a culinary journey that left my taste buds dancing with delight. The oxtail, tender and succulent, melted in my mouth with each savory bite. The salt fish fritters were a crispy delight, bursting with the perfect balance of saltiness and spices. And let's not forget the ackee and saltfish – a harmonious blend of flavors that left me craving more. But it didn't stop there. The stew peas, rich and hearty, paired perfectly with the fragrant rice and peas, creating a symphony of flavors that left me feeling utterly satisfied. And who could resist their beef patty? Flaky pastry enveloping a savory filling that was simply divine. To wash it all down, I enjoyed a refreshing sorrel drink, bursting with the tangy sweetness of hibiscus, complemented by the subtle kick of ginger and pine. Each sip was a refreshing burst of Caribbean sunshine. What truly sets Jr's Jamaican Jerk apart is the undeniable passion and dedication evident in every dish. From the careful selection of ingredients to the expert preparation, each plate is crafted with love and authenticity that shines through with every bite.As someone who appreciates good food, I wholeheartedly recommend Jr's Jamaican Jerk to anyone craving a taste of Jamaica right here in Hawaii. And with such a mouthwatering menu, I can't wait to return and sample even more of their delectable offerings. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Surprisingly tasty! I expected it to be good but the jerk shrimp was very flavorful. I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately they were out of fried plantains (gonna have to come back!). Got a side of mac & cheese that was also good. The prices were very reasonable for what I got, especially these days.

They're always out of alot of things even when it's still early in the day. Disappointed in the flavors now, doesn't taste like it did before. They use different rice now (I think jasmine, it's more dry). Also they give less than they used to (which is fine because of inflation)...however I wish everything stayed the same like before flavor/seasoning wise.

What a treat!!! Authentic Jamaican Jetk Chicken and the meat pies were on point. The right balance of spices and watch out the heat creeps up. Highly recommend this restaurant. Chef Hale

I had a craving for some jerk chicken again and decided to go to my spot, Jrs Jamaican Jerk. I was so excited to get this plate, but after trying it- it just felt like something was missing. Like there was no jerk to my chicken. The last time I went, the flavors were amazing. I always order plantains as well as they are my favorite. This time I opted in to get no coleslaw as it was just okay, so I got all rice. I also decided to get some mac n cheese as I haven't tried it before. So now my plate is $23, no big deal as I ordered two extra sides. I just would have been more happy if my chicken were as good as the first time for paying that price. Even in the pictures you can see it's drastically different. It wasn't spicy at all, just tasted like regular chicken. The highlight of my dish was the plantains, the hot sauce and mac n cheese. I'm 100% willing and ready to go back as dishes don't always have the same consistency especially if different people are cooking and hey, humans make mistakes. I just hope next time it's as good as the first time. There is parking available right in front of the restaurant in a little lot and the customer service is always the best, everyone is so friendly.

We ordered:Oxtails, Rice and Peas, Mac and Cheese and Fried Chicken and Beef Pattie. The Fried Chicken was great, the oxtail was tender and seasoned average, it needs more salt some heat it was mildly spiced. The beef Pattie was a 4 out of 10... the beef filling in it was not flavorful enough in my opinion and again no heat at all. The Mac and Cheese was ok, needed salt and flavor also, I added hot sauce which made a little flavor come out of it. The soda machine was not working properly, i ordered fruit punch first, it tasted old, I exchanged it for Orange but it only poured clear liquid, I asked for coke as the guy suggested it would be strongest, not the case it tasted old and flat. The guy at the counter was very nice and helpful. They did not serve cabbage with the rice and peas which is a Jamaican classic that always go together, instead they offered a vinaigrette coleslaw. For our entire or we paid $77.00 it was a little higher then we expected and compared to California prices where we are from it's closer to $60 for 2 including drinks.
