An amazing combo you just gotta try for yourself. Also the pineapple salsa that typically comes with the quesadilla is an amazing dip too.
There is no real good pineapple here at all.
The slipper cup tastes worse than any 1 dollar soft serve anywhere else, because the jam they use tastes too cheaply and artificially sweet. They brand the area well and I expected at least some fresher and better pineapple makes instead of this cheap, disgustingly sweet thing.

The good: The pineapple chunks were fresh and good, which was expected since this is Dole plantation. The Dole whip was excellent and I highly recommend it.
The bad: It gets really crowded and messy during peak season. The rest of the food is your average cafeteria at a park.

Top stars for uniqueness. The “souvenir” shop is a must check-out. The dole ice cream, which was pineapple based, of course, was extremely sweet but fun to try. The tour itself isn’t a must but it’s something to do. Kid friendly for sure.

An Oahu visit must always include a quick stop to get a large cup of Dole whip.
We walk on the outside of the building to get to the back and enter to get to the ordering line faster.
The Dole whip soft serve on this particular trip (Dec 2024) seemed much more creamy and less melty than our previous trips (Mar 2023). It also seemed to be a little less pineapple flavored.
While I really appreciated the creaminess and ability to be more solid, I missed the pineapple flavor. (Website says that the base is coconut cream.)
Still, I visit Oahu more often than I go to any Disney park... So I'll probably keep visiting for my creamy soft serve treat!

The portion is huge and tastes bad. I ordered pork rice and got a hamburger instead...

Our trip to The Plantation Grille at the Dole Plantation was really all about one thing, the legendary Dole Whip. And if you’re a fan of pineapple or tropical flavors in general, you’re in for a real treat. Imagine this: you’re handed a swirl of bright, golden-yellow goodness, almost too beautiful to eat, but too tempting to resist. With the first spoonful, you’re immediately transported to a place where pineapples taste sweeter, sunshine feels warmer, and tropical breezes are all around.
The Dole Whip itself is the perfect blend of creamy and refreshing, with a texture somewhere between soft serve and sorbet. It’s incredibly smooth, with a light, airy consistency that melts on your tongue, yet it’s rich with the intense, natural flavor of pineapple. Each bite balances just the right amount of sweetness and tang, creating a flavor that’s addictive but never overwhelming. It’s the kind of treat that’s ideal for a hot day, and honestly, it feels like a mini-vacation in a cup.
Aside from the Grille, the Dole Plantation itself is essentially a big shop selling Dole-themed souvenirs, from pineapple candies and jams to merchandise of all kinds. But the Dole Whip? That’s the true star of the show. It’s a must-try for anyone visiting the plantation—even if you just swing by for the Whip, you’ll leave satisfied. The Dole Whip is reason enough to make a stop here, and it's sure to be a highlight of any Hawaiian adventure.

I decided to try the popular Pineapple ice cream at Plantation Grille but it didn't quite live up to expectations. While the fresh pineapple tasted reminiscent of those from a Dole NY supermarket, it had an unpleasant aftertaste. The soft-serve ice cream itself had a decent pineapple flavor but wasn't remarkable. The ambiance was busy.
As for the entree options, the Kalua Pork Quesadilla caught my attention, particularly because they use spinach tortillas, though I haven't had the chance to try it personally.

The food is good and plentiful. Most food options can easily be shared with two people. I was definitely surprised at the portion sizes and the prices feel more appropriate after getting the food.

I don’t know where to start, for starters the Pineapple Express was an awesome little train ride through Doles plantation history. We spent a good portion of the day waiting for the train but was certainly worth the wait. We had the opportunity to indulge in the very well cooked food at the restaurant. We ordered the teriyaki plate, the Hawaiian Pizza, and the single order of crinkle cut French fries. The fries portion will feed three people by itself. The fries were perfectly made and was crispy and hot when served. The Soft Served Pineapple ice cream with pineapple tidbits were the best, I can’t believe how delicious it was. We had to reorder the ice cream and had another portion of the delicious Hawaiian pizza. The lines were pretty long but the service was fast. Oh my gosh I can only say you have to try this place if you haven’t already tried. I’m sure folks that have been there before will agree with my assessment of the entire “Dole” experience. I want to go back soon and experience it again. It was a vacation I will never forget. Definitely a highlight of Honolulu.

The pineapple ice-cream does not disappoint. Pictured, it is sweet and tangy (much like a pineapple or pineapple juice) and tastes fresh. The bright yellow color compliments the creamy texture.
The line almost always appears long, but (at least in my experience), it moves quickly. We waited five to ten minutes to order, and after the order waited about 60 seconds to receive our ice-cream.

Parking lots full. Full Lot signs just sitting off to side. One lot is a dead end, and drivers looking for spots got trapped in there. Gave up, took photos of the fields, and went back to hotel.
Parking: In the summer the lot is always packed so unless you get there early you'll have to wait for someone to leave to park. If you go during the off seasons parking is a lot easier to find all day.

Yummy, just like all Dole Whip! The place is a little crowded, but that's to be expected. Waited for about 5 minutes, no biggie. The regular cones are vegan, not so sure about the waffle cones.
Love the plantation but ice cream wasn't that great.
