I'm giving this place 2 stars only because they are hardly ever open for being a new restaurant in wahiawa. We have tried the poi mochi when we did catch them open. I've only heard about the Hawaiian food. Never got to trry it because most of the time we go it's closed. Hoping we will get to try.

I've haven't actually eaten here yet but I'm leaving a review because I have stopped here at least a dozen times and they are NEVER open. Why open a restaurant here just to not open? That doesn't even make sense.

This had happened on Saturday December 28th. I love getting my poi mochi fix but live far from this location. I didn't mind since I was so excited to finally eat some mochi after not having it since the summer. My boyfriend and I planned a day where we both were free so we could go and get some. After a long drive from Aiea, we found street parking and to our surprise all the blinds closed in the shop. The doors were locked and we peaked in a crack to see that there were people in the store just staring at us. I tried to check their social media to see if they posted anything explaining why they weren't open but their social media hasn't been updated since December 14th. I was so disappointed since i've been looking forward to it while being away at college. I love poi mochi but I don't like wasting my time or gas!! Don't waste your time!

You know how sometimes you eat at a new restaurant and the food and experience was just okay? It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Because the experience wasn't memorable it takes you forever to write a review and the only reason why you remembered the restaurant was because you were going through the pictures on your phone. Well, that was my experience at Uncle Lani's. I was craving Helena's but was too lazy to drive to town on a Friday night for dinner. Since Uncle Lani's had just opened up in Wahiawa I dragged my family there. We wanted to order their Kalua Pork and Lomi Salmon combo but they were out of some of the things that come with the combo so we ended up ordering a la carte. The Kalua Pork and Lomi Salmon was good, but the Pipikaula tasted like dehydrated luncheon meat. The portion size was decent and the price is reasonable. Cashier was friendly. We parked on the street around the corner, but I think they have designated parking spots in back of their building. I recommend you call ahead of time because their hours are inconsistent. I was told by an employee that sometimes they close early if they run out of food or if they have to cater an event. The first time I tried to come here they were closed even though their posted hours indicate that they should have been open. Before my second attempt, I called ahead of time and that's when the employee told me that they had an event the previous day. The wait was pretty long for to go order with 4 people ahead of us. We haven't been back since our initial visit, but I would probably come back and try this place again.

I was hella impressed with this place. Parking in the rear was a little tight, but there were empty spots. The restaurant was clean, the cashier was friendly, great menu choices. It was the best Commercial Lau Lau that i have ever had. It was huge and delicious. The Loni salmon, actually tasted like salmon ! Pipikaula was ono. Friend said the Poi and sweet potatoe was great. I want to try the squid luau next time. I will go back.

As soon as we walked in we loved the environment, super clean and very welcoming. The food was to die for, hands down best Hawaiian food on island!!! Everything we had tried was flavorful and just to my liking. Must try their poi mochi as well!

Finally got to try and was not disappointed. I had the Laulau plate and hubby had the Beef Stew plate. Plates came with Lomi Salmon, Poi, Onions w/alae salt, Sweet Potato, Pipikaula and Poi Haupia. So ONO!! Definitely going back!!!

Our second time eating here and so far the food is ok and decent portions for the price. I ordered the Lau Lau plate but for some reason the Lau Lau wasn't steamed long enough so the leaves weren't soft or moist like it should be. And the pork in the Lau Lau was also dry. I was pretty bummed because I was really craving a good Lau Lau. My hubby ordered the squid luau plate and he said it was ok but nothing spectacular. The purple haupia was definitely interesting because it didn't taste like haupia. It was too sweet to eat, hopefully they go back to the traditional haupia. Of course we got the poi mochi balls and they never fail! However, it was cold when we ordered it so that was a bummer because it wasn't fresh. Also, they don't take phone orders unfortunately so don't bother calling the number because it's the office number. They do bite squad though but it would be way more convenient if I could just call in my order and pick it up. Hopefully the next time we go the quality of the food will be better. Until then my review is 3 stars.

We FINALLY made it to Uncle Lani's Cafe and I'm so elated for the Ohana Everything was so ono Laulau was the perfect blend of Luau Leaf, pork and hawaiian salt. Squid Luau was so on point. Perfect blend of creaminess from the coconut milk, squid and luau leaf. Their homemade pipikaula was to DIE for! I can go on for days how everything just meshed in perfect harmony. Icing on the cake was their haupoi dessert. If you haven't tried it, you MUST try it Mahalo Aunty and Sis for all of the Aloha and Congratulations again for opening your Cafe!

This place is the home of the one and only Uncle Lani's Poi Mochi. I tried it a few years ago when they were in the food court of the Ka Makana Ali'i shopping center and I instantly fell in love. Now they have a Café in Wahiawa with their famous Uncle Lani's Poi Mochi as well as traditional Hawaiian food that will stuff you up. I highly suggest for everyone to come here to Uncle Lani's Café and enjoy the greatness it has to offer.
