Lanterns Restaurant and Tavern

Went with my family of 6 under a dinner reservation. Had some wonderful Live Music with a diverse lineup of classic covers. Most of my group ordered the Pork and enjoyed it thoroughly. I got one of the seasonal drinks which came in an awesome skull glass, top knotch for flavor and strength. Should add the staff were all kind and attentive. The hype was justified, solid choice if you're in the area.

We all felt sick immediately after eating there. The nachos were DRIPPING in oil, burger was burnt, chicken wings were way too oily too. Service wasn’t that great either.
We left feeling scammed after paying the bill.

Love this place. Everything on this island is expensive, but at least the food is damn good here. Fish and chips, the pork chop… haven’t had anything I didn’t like. Drinks are delicious. Come for the drag shows they do once a month!!

If you want something other than 2 scoops of rice & sushi 🙌ALAS you've found it! 😁 delish! Those drinks!!! 🍸 🧉 WHAAAAA... so good... and that buzz will sneak up on ya they're so smooth. Never had bacon bread pudding... but I'm here to say I'm a fan!

We absolutely loved everything we ordered. Catch of the day salmon on rice. Truffle fries. Cesar Salasd. Buffalo wings. The food took a while but it’s fresh! So be kind be patient. Service was great, they kept filling our waters and made sure to check on us. They had live music, also amazing. From Texas- 10/10 we had a few servings of wine, just to get an idea of the process range

Vibes are off the charts here. Live music most nights. We were there on a Friday afternoon. They had Great service and delicious food. The mauka to makai nachos was a great starter. Drinks were unique and delicious. The food was amazing. And the ocean views are a plus. What a great spot on the west side!!

The food is 10/10! Service SPECTACULAR! Alaka’i and Tiare were soooo sweet and accommodating. Can’t recommend this place enough. Definitely worth coming on the H1 @ 5pm!!! Best place evaaaahhh!!

Oceanside view of the sunset. Local, glowing staff and service. Reasonable prices. Air-condtitioned in the notoriously hot Waianae sun. And the FOOD. Solid, well rounded menu. Quality ingredients. Rotating menu options. Extremely creative food AND drinks. The drinks alone are art. The entertainment? Live, and amazing. Not too loud, just right.

Lanterns simply DOES NOT MISS. First ever 5 star review across the board. If you haven't been you're missing out.

I wanted to give 4 stars at first but my son started throwing up 🤮 30 minutes after he had chicken wings and strawberry lemonade. I tried the wings that he ate and I couldn’t finish even one. It’s either they were not completely cooked though or it was the lemonade that made him sick. Fish of the day is the only thing that deserved a star.

This was our first time at Lanterns, so we didn't know what to expect. The hostess was very kind and accommodating. The food was absolutely amazing. And the portions were plentiful. We really enjoyed ourselves, and now we have a new place added to our go to list of places to eat.

I don’t live here anymore, but coming home and feeling like I’m home no matter how long I’ve been gone is something special. This place has that old Hawaii energy, the one we romanticize. Everyone is smiling. Kids and kapuna sharing space. Good made with love. Glad I decided to pop in. Will be back.
