“We ate here twice in two days. First was for lunch and it was 10/10 amazing. Food, service, atmosphere all outstanding. We have been coming to Maui once or twice a year for the past 4 years and that was our first time at Olivine. A great way to start. We didn't have reservation one night, so we decided to try to get into Olivine. We were able to get a reservation, and we decided to go. This experience was not like the prior day. The food, spot on. It was delicious. This night the service and atmosphere were lacking. At one point my chair moved and someone's child had decided to use the back of it to climb onto the windowsill. There is a point when non-confrontation starts to ruin the experience of others. As for service, we had an app to share, it was great. They came to clear the plates, and took everything, to the point when the food was dropped, we had nothing to eat it with. The runner just dropped and ran, so we didn't even have time to ask for plates. We ordered a pasta to share, a side of sprouts, and pizza. We waited a few minutes, then I had to go track someone down to get plates. The bartender was very nice and brought us one promptly. We also noticed that we were not given any utensils to dish out the side and the pasta. I know tongs are usually given, as people all around us had them. When our server finally came by, we were able to ask him for some. We ate, he stopped by maybe once to check and fill our water. When we were done and couldn't eat anymore, we waited for him to stop by. I went as far as to stack all the plates, so he knew we were done. We waited 15 min from the time we weee done eating, to the time when we were asked about desert, with plates stacked for at least 10 of those minutes. It's a shame, because everything can be perfect, but if services lacking, it really creates a bad experience for the diner. There's a lot of restaurants to pick when visiting the area, so we are not sure we will come back, at least not for dinner. Pizza is A+“
