I am on vacation and came here for my birthday. We had such a great time. The staff was awesome and the band was fantastic. I would definitely come back next vacation!!! Thank you. That was really the best night of my trip!

We saw John Keawe, songwriter and slack key guitar performer and story teller, two years ago and again this year with his wife Hope and two granddaughters dancing. He is great.
The Blue Dragon is fun and going there you can see the beautiful rolling grass hills of the northern part of the Big Island.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend attending live events here based on my experience last night. Venue is too small for amount of tickets they sold we had to sit outside and look in through a window. Our wooden chairs had broken slats and took a few tries to find non broken ones. Service was painfully slow. Food is just your average bar fare.

I love this place. Good food, atmosphere and live music. About the only nightlife in kawaihae. Definitely worth checking out.
