A Hidden Gem in Waimea — Dom De Lucas Delivers an Exceptional Dining Experience
We had the pleasure of dining at Dom De Lucas with a party of eight, and from the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the gracious hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group with genuine warmth and seamless service — a rare find, especially for a larger party.
We began with the mozzarella bread and caprese — both elegantly simple, but executed perfectly. The mozzarella was impossibly fresh and melty, with the bread golden and pillowy. The caprese balanced heirloom tomatoes and basil with just the right kiss of balsamic — a refreshing start that set the tone for the meal.
Our younger kids devoured the keiki spaghetti and meatballs and the Margherita pizza, both clearly made with care and quality ingredients. The meatballs were tender and flavorful, and the pizza boasted a beautifully crisp crust with bright tomato sauce and fragrant basil.
For the adults, we sampled a range of entrées — the shrimp scampi was buttery and garlicky with a perfect al dente bite to the pasta; the carbonara rich and comforting without being too heavy; and the special of the night (a beautifully presented seafood dish) was the star — fresh, nuanced, and expertly prepared.
To top it off, their wine list is both well-curated and reasonably priced, featuring a thoughtful selection that paired beautifully with our dishes.
Dom De Lucas is more than a meal — it’s an experience. Casual yet elevated, family-friendly yet refined. We’ll absolutely be returning. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike.

I've come here a few times because my parents like it, but never had a good experience. One time I had hair in my food. Today they got everything wrong with our order, including giving us whole orders instead of the half. The food was sub par, the wine was not good, and for two bowls of pasta and one glass of $14 wine, it cost me over $100 excluding tip. On top of that, a cockroach ran over the table at the end of the meal. I'm never going there again.

Very delicious. Ordered the pear, walnut salad; marsala chicken with added scallops, and garlic bread. Yummy. Will be back.

Delicious creme brûlée
Good italian food and they have gluten free pasta. The only downside is that the place could look a little classier at this price point but the service is good and food is delicious.
More than one hour to get the food. Very poor service. Very fast to serve the drinks. Waitress kept coming to ask if we want more drinks. We kept saying we were hungry. Still no food. Got there before 6 . Wasnt until pass 7 when we got served. Food was OK..... Give it a 5. Service 2. At the most. When was time to leave waitress left the check at the table and left fast. Had to call for her attention to express my disatisfaction whith the delay. A good service would be to apologise and offer some compensation like drinks on the house. Never happened. Never will go back there again Poor service. Over priced food. And again.... just ok food.
Bruschetta and carbonara were delicious! Excellent service as well
We hadn’t been here in a long time and really enjoyed our meal! There was a bit of a wait but our server was great! The bruschetta is delicious. We had the seafood pizza and tried the Alfredo and scampi as well as the wine flight. They were gracious enough to give us a side of the balsamic reduction sauce which was bomb drizzled on the pizza. All the seafood was well cooked especially the scallops. We’ve been to Milan and Venice and the food reminds me of the good memories we had in Italy.
great place, the food was excellent. and the desserts too.

We came here during a visit to Hawaii.
Pros: service was great, pizza was good.
Cons: wine was skunked; pasta was below average and my son got sick from the meatballs.
All in all, not a place I’d ever return.

What a huge dissipointment the Pork belly and pineapple pizza was today. We have had it 4 times now. Twice inside the restaurant & twice take out. Unfortunately the quality has dropped to under 50% of the first time we had it. There were up to 4 fingers of no topping around the edge. The topping was sparingly, so much so that there was only 1 small piece of pineapple and 1 sliver of pork belly per slice. Especially dissipointment at a cost of $36. I mistakenly added a small tip without looking inside the box, so total cost $40.
