5 stars for the ono grinds! We arrived around 9:30A on a Thursday morning. We got lucky and snagged a couple of tables outside. Ginas is basically takeout with a few tables for dining outside. We ordered a burrito and a mini loco moco with onions and mushrooms. The burrito was filled with Spanish rice, Portuguese sausage, bacon, ham, eggs and cheese. Very tasty combo! The Loco Moco was the BOMB! The best we've had so far! We shared a slice of banana bread for dessert. So moist and full of banana flavor. I had the opportunity to meet Gina and told her how much we enjoyed breakfast. Especially the Loco Moco. We hope to make a return trip before we leave.

Ate here for lunch while visiting Kauai for business. I ordered a Hamburger Steak/Chicken Cutlet combo plate lunch with GAO (gravy all ova) $15.95. The hamburger steak was handmade and cooked perfectly. Not too raw, not too dry, just right. The chicken cutlet was soft and tender and also cooked just tight. The Mac Salad was pretty basic, but it worked with the plate lunch and gravy. The gravy was pretty rich and not too salty. It had a certain sour twang to it. The rice was rice. I also ordered the Roast Pork Moco (locomoco) with GAO $12.95. The roast pork was tender and tasty and the over easy eggs were cooked just right. Same Mac Salad, gravy and rice as the combo plate. Service was awesome. Didn't have to wait too long. Free street parking was a little tight, but available near by. Just don't park across the street in front of Umi's Store or Umi will rip you a new one. I'd eat here again.

Roast pork loco moco was awesome, as was the pumpkin crunch. Greeted by an elderly friendly lady from the neighborhood leaving the restaurant who took the time to chat with us and spread the real aloha.

Very friendly and wonderful service. We arrived a few minutes after they opened and there were already others ahead of us. Good sign.Loco moco was maybe one of the best I've had. Gravy and patty was flavorful! They offer onions and mushrooms but I like my loco moco as is.French toast was divine and practically melted in my mouth. Great portion!Breakfast sandwich with spam was on point, too. There are a few 2-person tables outside, but we were on our way to an appointment.Plenty of parking spots in front, but difficult to exit since you back out into main traffic.

Stopped here after a hike in Waimea Canyon for lunch and WOW. We had the crispy chicken sandwich and the mushroom Swiss burger. Very reasonably priced and we had one of those completely silent meals because we were enjoying the delicious flavors too much. Highly recommend!!!
