The food was mediocre. It was sad. I left sad. I had the ahi steak. it was barely 2 pieces of maybe an inch long and an inch wide filet of ahi.. not a steak by even the most loose of definitions. And the orzo did not taste like orzo at all. It was a lazy version comprised of cherry tomatoes, halved olives and far too many capers over a few grains of unseasoned pieces of something g to hey called “orzo”. Bleh! I left hungry so I made a quesadilla when I got home. Thank goodness for home cooking. Additionally, I specifically asked that our party not be placed at a table in the middle of the floor for my daughter‘s birthday dinner celebration. I asked for a booth or otherwise quiet, secluded area away from all other guests. Nonetheless, that was exactly where they placed us - at a table in the middle of the dining floor. No privacy whatsoever. Thankfully, the staff did their jobs properly. Nothing to be proud about though. The overall experience sucked! The only redeeming factor here is that my daughter was a great sport about everything. Halani is a HELLA NO!

The value wasn't there for the food we received. We had a much better experience at canoe house and the food wowed there while the food at halani was pretty mediocre for the price paid. The only thing I would order again is the bread which was exceptional. Don't understand why the kids menu wouldn't have a basic pasta dish? Too many other good restaurants at this price point.

Our dinner experience was poor. The food had no flavor. The Cesar salad and kebab plater was comparable to airplane food. Drinks had a lackluster presentation with no effort. Nothing special about this place. Our waiter was friendly and the restaurant has a nice ambiance but only because there are not many options around the hotel.

Food and service were very nice. The chef was able to work around a couple of allergies with no problem and did not compromise flavor or variety. The live music was a bit loud which made talking somewhat harder but not to the point of impossible. We have been to HāLani several times and I've honestly never noticed the music being too loud before so it was quite possibly a one off situation. Everything else was impeccable.

I've had a number of good meals here, but this a bit disappointing. The food was a bit flavorless, and the service was slow.
Very disappointing for a high end hotel. Drinks and Salads were very good. The Kabob entree that we split was very dry and hardly even warm, as was the saffron rice served with it (dry, not warm). It's like they made it 20 minutes prior. Service was just ok. Waiter friendly enough, but not very attentive. Walked by several times while there were empty drinks on the table. Had to 'ask' for things multiple times. As such his tip was reduced, not for the food that was not his fault, but for lack of paying attention and proactive nature. For the kind of prices you pay at an Auberge, there are much better options elsewhere in the area. It's unfortunate as the lunch we had a few days earlier at the bar RIGHT NEXT to the restaurant was excellent.

Great choice. We had the Mediterranean dip appetizers with their bubble bread and it was fantastic. The ahi tuna is the best we've ever had on the islands. Wonderful by the glass wine list...and we are really picky...and the service was great.

We had a terrific meal. Our server, Zoe, was cheerful and knowledgeable. It started to pour (unusual for the area) and we had to dash inside, but they quickly got us towels and set up at a new table very quickly. The food was delicious; every dish was different and of high quality.
