Cash only, but they have an ATM onsite.
Local restaurant with a relaxed vibe serving up huge plates of Hawaiian goodness including banana mac nut pancakes, loco mocos taken to the next level (hamburger patties, cutlets, sausage and other proteins)
and egg and meat plates that include two starches such as hash browns AND a pancake or waffle.
Friendly and attentive staff keep cups filled and smiles flowing. As there is usually a line, simply add your name to the waitlist at the front door and you will get a text when your table is ready, but its definitely worth the wait.

Breakfast October 16, 2024
October 16, 2024 once we left the Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company, we drove to Waimea Hawaiian Style Cafe for breakfast, then went over to the Waimea Midweek Farmers Market, then stopped at the Hawaiian Tropical Botanical Gardens for a rest break!

I went here for breakfast so we could get off of the resort grounds to see something more local with my family and I couldn’t believe how good the burger was! It tasted so fresh and amazing and I loved it!!! The servers were so fast with our food and the second we walked in we got seated! And the drinks came to us in a minute or less and our server came to us right away and we got our food in a few minutes and it was still so warm and delicious! Staff are amazing! Food was spectacular, and the atmosphere was amazing! Our server Donna was so kind and amazing and very helpful and she was just so amazing! There is so much more I could say but it would be a day long to read! I am gonna come back to Hawaii and head straight to here! 10/10 would recommend!

We came to this famous breakfast spot because we heard the food was amazing — but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When we arrived, it was busy, which we understood. They took our name for three people, but wouldn’t allow my 5-year-old to sit on my lap and count it as two. They said the wait would be about 30 minutes, which seemed reasonable.
After an hour and a half, we were still waiting. During that time, they continued seating other groups (both smaller and larger) who arrived after us. We checked in several times and were repeatedly told we were “up next,” but it never happened. Eventually, we gave up and left — our breakfast plans turned into lunch at Merriman’s next door.
To make things worse, when we politely expressed our frustration, the hostess was rude and dismissive. It really felt like they missed our name multiple times and weren’t willing to admit it.
The food may be great, but no food is worth that kind of wait or treatment — especially with a hungry 5-year-old. Hopefully, they improve their check-in system and customer service because this was extremely disappointing.

Bring cash and patience. You do have to wait to be seated, no need to keep checking in, put your name and wait. It's worth the wait! Great customer service, delicious big portioned food!

Most delicious kalbi short ribs I’ve ever had. Spectacular. Every meal I have had here has been good. They do have some service issues - my table of 2 was kept waiting for a table 1/2 hr longer than a 4 top that arrived AFTER we did. And there was a roach running around on the floor under our table. Hawaii has lots of roaches and I choose not to hold this against them. I will definitely be back - the food is amazing.

Great food, massive pancakes, and fast/friendly service. Cash only, but they have an ATM. I had the Loco Moco and it was really good and a lot of food. Also had the two egg breakfast with pancakes...had to share and there were leftovers.
