Always a pleasure to eat at Merida. We thought the food a bit better than we remembered. The hostess and waitress were excellent as well as the other staff. The sunsets and ocean view are very nice here. The kitchen cheerfully accommodated the member of our party with a number of dietary restrictions. Resort pricing but not exorbitant. Around $60 per person for us with one alcoholic beverage and one dessert for the entire party of four. We will go back during future visits.
The food was phenomenal. Get the paella. Our server and all other staff was wonderful and kind. Even though we ate after sunset on the patio, listen to the ocean waves was beautiful ambience for an incredible meal.
We were concerned about what the atmosphere would be like, it was wonderful. Really beautiful space, and the food and service was off the charts. Not inexpensive but worth every penny. Everything we ordered was spot on.
Great in most ways except timing . Came in for 6 pm dinner. Entrees were ordered in 10-15 minutes but we werent served till 8 pm. A two hour wait for a meal is not great. Food was good, server was great. Split on whether to visit again. Maybe it was a tough night for the kitchen.
We have dined at Meridia 3 times in the past few years and this was perhaps the best. This was our 40th anniversary trip, so we wanted to make our dinner special. We were seated in an excellent table with a view of the ocean and the pool area. We started out with the Octopus which was outstanding, then we shared a smallish caprese salad which was delicious and creative with balsamic pearls on top. For our mains my wife chose the seafood pasta dish which she said was delicious. I have always wanted to try the short rib, and their version was exceedingly tender and flavorful. Our server Michael took good care of us and took time to explain the menu, and highlight each dish as they were served. We passed on dessert this time and just enjoyed the wonderful ambiance.
Everything was great except service was slow. Kids burgers were overcooked, they didn't eat it. Luckily the waitress took it off. Ordered two extra sides of the saffron risotto and broccoli and it never came. The waitress was covering two different levels, her service was slow. We sat for a while before given a menu. I am sure she was busy but we didn't receive a prompt service for such high caliber restaurant. This was for a birthday celebration and it didn't really feel special. Staff upfront was great. Sicilian cocktail was great. Love the grilled octopus. Bummed about the service.
Loved it here. We Come often and their food quality has gone up from a year ago. I believe new chef :). Would love to see the piano player come back. That would really top it off.
Windy at times, menus flying. Chairs wide, can't hang jacket. Food great, desserts pretty small. Overall great though, staff in my opinion is what made the experience great..
We had the most amazing service and the most amazing meal! Michael and Marvin were wonderful. The green goddess salad is a must and the feta cheese bread that accompanies it is so delicious. The pie is absolutely outstanding. And we had started with the Fritto Misto which we loved. Everything about our experience there last night was tremendous
From the moment we arrived until we left it was a wonderful experience. Our server Erin was delightful and very helpful in making food/drink choices. We had the bacon wrapped dates (scrumptious), the carbonera (wonderful) and Kampachi special (delicious). Churro dessert also wonderful. We can't wait to go back.

Beautiful outdoor setting. Sunset was gorgeous. Service was outstanding. Food was mediocre. Nothing special. Cheesecake was actually delicious.
Brilliant menu, fabulous service, breathtaking sunset. The special was phenomenal, Onaga with some amazing sauce, fingerling potatoes with bacon bits and brussel sprouts with truffle oil! It was ridiculously good! Also the oyster crudo and octopus were perfect apps! Oh and fun drinks! Highly recommend the Flavorila (or something like that) vodka, aperol, mango, lime - stunning!
The best dining at Mauna Kea / Hapuna resorts. Chef Soto is creating masterpieces of deliciousness. The paella is a triumph, the dates wrapped in bacon were next level, and don't miss the cheesecake. Highly recommend.
Meridian is always a treat and last night was as well! We were able to be out in the gorgeous Hawaiian evening; our server was friendly but not intrusive and the food!!! Wow!!!! And thank you for the call that I left my cc behind. Yikes! I love this restaurant and look forward to the next occasion.
Meridia never disappoints, and with Chef Soto now working his magic, the food is exceptional. We canceled reservations elsewhere to dine there a second time. Highly recommend.
