Menu and food are excellent. The beet salad and the seafood specialty very pleasing. Wait staff is excellent but on thus occasion the kitchen seemed uniquely slow.

Sunset scenery is very good. My server was very slow to respond. I don't think I'll ever visit again.

We had a wonderful dinner, the ambience is lovely, and we got a chance to meet the charming chef. It is one of my favorite restaurants. Mahalo

The best part of our dinner was the great care that everyone took making sure that we were confident that all the gluten free servings were really gluten free. Special GF bread was provided. And we were visited by Chef Sotirios Kontos, twice during our meal to introduce himself to us and to answer any questions we might have about our dinner selections.

Absolutely exceptional! It has been a couple years since we have returned to Meridia. Chef Soto has truly breathed new life into this island favorite gem. We look forward to seeing how he will continue to elevate the menu. We definitely can taste the difference since the last time we dined in. Some noteable dishes—the carbonara tartufata (specify Al dents if you actually enjoy eating pasta the right way), the crudo, the grilled octopus (perfectly done—not overdone), and the beet salad. Not to mention the array of delicious desserts. The servers and staff always make each evening memorable. Ask for Elizabeth or Michael.

We had an absolutely amazing dinner at Meridia in the Westin Hotel, Kona! Chef Soto’s creations were simply outstanding, and the miso-crusted cauliflower was the best vegetable dish we’ve ever had. Simple, perfect, and beautifully prepared. The vegetables were sourced from the chef’s on-site garden, adding a special touch. The cocktails were creative and refreshing, making it one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a very long time. A truly memorable evening!

Really enjoyed our dinner at Meridia - the food (especially the lamb orzo, beef ragout, and bread pudding), the service, and the beachside views were excellent. Special shoutout to Chef Soto and Elizabeth for a great experience. Highly recommend

Chef Soto, with the gracious help of our wonderful server Elizabeth, delivered a true delight of the senses at Meridia last night. As Greeks—forever drawn to the Mediterranean palate—we were especially moved by dishes rooted in his heritage and inspired by Hawaii’s freshest local ingredients. From the ube panna cotta to the lamb, which made me reminiscent of my yiayia’s cooking, every bite impressed.

A quiet mention of our heritage to the manager, Thor, led Chef Soto to join us at the table, where he shared stories of his youth in Greece and the deep dedication behind his craft. He has clearly embraced what makes Hawaii so special. The evening was a beautiful reminder that dining is about far more than nourishment. I couldn’t recommend Meridia more highly—and if you’re fortunate enough to meet the chef behind the cuisine, savor the moment. His vision is clear, heartfelt, and unmistakably reminiscent of home.

Best Mediterranean restaurant on the Big Island.
A must stop for en elegant dinner with breathtaking views of the sunset. I’ve never had a better service experience in my life, I have to admit service is top notch! My server Erin was very professional and knowledgeable about the menu which I really appreciate it a lot.
I ordered the Carbonara Tartufata and this appetizer took my attention out of all the menu selection. The pasta was fresh made to order and the richness of the sauce is still memorable.
Crudo was out of this world, definitely worth the try!
The cuttlefish ink Tagliolini with the local Kona shrimp and clams was exceptional, topped with Bottarga zest on top made this dish a 10.

Finally for dessert we got the Baklava with white chocolate pistachio cream and ouzo gelato!

The manager reached to our table to make sure everything was good, something to at you don’t see often to resorts!

Compliments to the chef and all the stuff.

Wonderful food and service! Elizabeth was a wonderful server, very friendly and patient with our indecisiveness. Entrees were well portioned and flavorful, sides were fresh and excellent quality. View at sunset is beautiful, staff is very friendly. Will return!

Always a pleasure to eat at Merida. We thought the food a bit better than we remembered. The hostess and waitress were excellent as well as the other staff. The sunsets and ocean view are very nice here. The kitchen cheerfully accommodated the member of our party with a number of dietary restrictions. Resort pricing but not exorbitant. Around $60 per person for us with one alcoholic beverage and one dessert for the entire party of four. We will go back during future visits.

The food was phenomenal. Get the paella. Our server and all other staff was wonderful and kind. Even though we ate after sunset on the patio, listen to the ocean waves was beautiful ambience for an incredible meal.
