Great customer service, friendly atmosphere, owner was great. Food portion was amazing. Highly recommend Garden Island Cafe over many other Chinese Restaurants in Waipahu. Especially Jade Garden…Jade’s Customer Service is nonexistent and they don’t like their customers. Will definitely be back and refer others to Garden. Did I mention crazy food portions? My box didn’t even close. Multiple meals in one and phenomenal price/value. Happy and Grateful I found this place. Farther from home but definitely worth the extra hike. 😎

I would not recommend. We got the mochiko chicken with rice to go and it tasted really good & soft. But after we almost finished the whole plate, I found this bug in the food. We completely lost appetite and I’m worried that we had consumed other bugs without realizing it. Tasty food but not clean.

Wow! What a huge amount of good bbq and katsu chicken on the combo plate. One order of combo could easily could feed two happy eaters!!! They had to tape the overflowing container shut! Broccoli and beef was equally as generous! Even the Mac salad was delicious. Loved that they look to be an old school restaurant with very generous portions.

First impression was great, the fish was delicious, but it gave me the worst indigestion I’ve ever had. Undercooked? Also got a noodle soup, but it didn’t come with broth. Staff didn’t speak English, so never coming back.

If you're looking for salt n pepper chicken this is not it, it's more of a garlic chicken. Their fried chicken was great. Their gau gee and crab Rangoon was tasty and stuffed, great quantity. Fried rice was good. Walnut shrimp wasn't the greatest to me but my husband enjoyed it. Sweet n sour spareribs had some dry ribs so hard to chew but the taste of the sauce was good. Their Mac salad was tasty.
The star was definitely their crispy fried chicken and fried rice for me.

Great food, until you see the back... Meat/chicken on the ground marinating in an old tin can. Prepped food on the ground. This is not healthy or normal! Please take more pride in the cleanliness of your facility before you get people sick or worse, kill someone. You are a big part of the community and the community loves your food. Show love back by CLEANING and holding your team in the back accountable for the cleaning part of the business. I'm assuming that this is your source of livelihood please do your part as a business owner to protect your business from being "condemned" and be shut down due to the unhygienic things your team is doing in the back. This will hurt your business! I don't understand how you're passing the food inspections. Not asking to do anything extra but to meet the basic or minimum cleaning standards.
