Kuni Restaurant and Catering

Just had an AMAZIING lunch about a 1 1/2 hours ago! The staff service and ESPECIALLY THE FOOD WAS A 10 OUT OF 10! We were a party of 4 , greeted warmly within 5 seconds upon entering...Three of us had the choose 2 ..2 were the teriyaki Ribeye and Tempura as the 2nd. one was a butterfish and tempura for second and last was a single chicken katsu! EVERYONE enjoyed and LOVED THE FOOD from the starters salads and miso soup, through the delicious entrees! *one had complete meal which included drink and a green tea icecream! staff was 100% and we fealt extra spoiled as a gentleman (manager/ owner not sure) stopped by DID a funny trick and spent time making our experience extra special! I had been seeing advertisements on my phone for a little over a month and kept telling my husband! Our friends and us FINALLY made it! A HUGE MAHALO TO EVERYONE! Can't wait to come again! xo

Everyone we encountered at the restaurant today was welcoming especially uncle. Put a smile on my birthday. :)

Great portions for the price. Staff was young but surprisingly very professional and attentive to customers in the restaurant. Very flavorful food. Nice ambience and plenty parking.

I ordered Teishoku 2–choice... first of all they mixed up our order. I said Teri beef and butterfish. I asked why some choices were pictured and some not. They said they were the popular dishes. Later after I paid and complained asking why $5 added to each item, they say because they were premium ... now they say that?!!! Also, they got my order wrong and brought shrimp even though we never order shrimp tempura, but my brother accepted it. So I had to order the Teri beef again which began to add up... all total with now my brother having a 3-choice combo and me a two choice... $65 was our bill for so little food. I will never go back again.

Had my birthday dinner which was a good deal - free one course meal and only pay for upgrades.

Our experience at Kuni's on my birthday was very nice. We had an early lunch. We were seated as soon as we entered the restaurant. We ordered and in no time our appetizers and soup appeared. The Japanese style appetizers were very good. Our meal was served and we leisurely ate. It wasn't very busy since it was early, we had a quiet lunch. In the end I was able to have a wonderful lunch on my birthday. Kuni's advertised a free birthday entree if a reservation is made as I did. Our check was reasonable with the price of one entree (from teishoku meal) taken off. All in all it was a pleasant and enjoyable lunch.

Very slow service. Seems understaffed. Ordered 2 Ohana Meals for 4. The sizzling steaks were more gristle than meat. Poor quality. Shrimp was still okay. We had to remind waiter that we hadn't received our sashimi until we had nearly completed our meal.

We celebrated a birthday Saturday lunch with the family. It was our first time at this restaurant and was given great service. Food tasted great, especially the chicken katsu. Ice cream and undagi was a great way to end the meal.

Good choice for Japanese cuisine. Discovered this place on OpenTable. We would have not thought to eat there. Food was excellent. Had a nice family dinner.

Haven't been to Kuni for a while what a nice surprise they renovated it's so nice and updated love it. The food was very good food came out fast. service was awesome they was so helpful and nice. And the plus side if it someone birthday a free birthday meal on that day.

Great locally run Japanese restaurant. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Had the miso butterfish which was excellent!! Vegetable tempura was perfectly light and crispy and not oily. The wait help hustled. The host (older Japanese man) was gracious! The portions were good, for a Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere was old school…which you gotta love. We are definitely going back !
