Burger Shed Restaurant Altoona

Burger shed has always been a go to place for us. The new brunch is 10/10 and the service is also great! Biscuits and Gravy are some of the best around!

I've always been a Burger Shed fan then I heard they were offering brunch so naturally I had to try it and needless to say they hit it out of the park! Altoona has always needed a good brunch spot and now we have one! Highly recommend!! Biscuits and gravy to die for oh and the staff was great as well!

Servers name was Mike, never checked on us (wasn’t the one that brought us our food), no refills on drinks, brought us bill and never came back to take credit card. Tried to pay at bar and was told had to pay with server, who was at every other table but ours. Food was ok, burger was kind of dry and tator tots cold.
Multiple times of poor service and bad food, was willing to give it another try, bad mistake!

Great dining spot. A friend & I met for lunch right as they opened. There was a small line of people waiting to get in.
The service was quick & efficient. The food was great; I ordered the nachos - it was an enormous amount of food (I couldn't even fit all the leftovers in the to-go box).
Plenty of parking.
All around great experience.

I seldom give 5 stars, so don't think that this is a low rating. Daughter took me there to celebrate Father's Day and we had a great time.

Burger was good, drinks were ok, but flies in a restaurant are a no for me.

By far this one the worst company I’ve ever worked for. If customers knew what there getting served like example expired beer. HANNAH the bar manager forced us to sell customers 6 month old beers so her numbers looked better even if most of us disagreed. Maranda the GM talks about having an open door policy, and as soon as you make one little comment about feeling discriminated or retaliated against she will scream yell At you and say it’s all your fault and that they did nothing wrong. She also has been accused of racial discrimination against others towards men. She thinks it’s OK to talk and do whatever she pleases even if it’s all A lie. I personally made numerous complaints to Lisa other employees have mentioned the discrimination in the workplace and yet nothing was still done about it. Lisa is below Mike Wallen, the owner. When I had spoke to her about the whole situation, she assured me, she would look into it properly almost a month later she did nothing about it. No follow ups, even though there was other employees in video in audio recordings of everything that happened. Victoria, the scheduling manager is no better. Most of the part-time workers there are great though. Only if more people knew the type of place they were supporting by coming in and eating that they would not support something like that. What’s The worst part about this is I was just trying to get off a little early to go see my sister which had stage four cancer and because I questioned the manager Victoria I end up getting fired for it. For anyone that looks at the reviews, I would never recommend this place to any family friends of yours.

I made a reservation for a surprise birthday party a week prior and I called day of to confirm my reservation but they seemed to have lost it, that’s fine I understand things like that happen I was able to rebook it same day.
However while my party was waiting for the surprisee to show up our waitress (Amber) approached the table very abruptly and with an attitude very rudely asked “is the rest of your party showing up soon cause you only have a 2 hour time slot.”
Obviously I’m confused as that was not disclosed to me over the phone the 3 times I had spoke to the restaurant while making my reservations nor is it disclosed on the website also I was taken back by the attitude and disrespect.
She then brought the manager (Victoria) over whom had a worse attitude and proceeded to talk down to me, belittle me and argue with my entire family. When my dad told her to walk away from the table as she was only making things worse and not deescalating she refused and continued to argue with us and at one point told me I was being “hostile” when everybody in my party can confirm I was not in the slightest being “hostile”.
I could tell by the way the manager had approached the situation and the way she was speaking to me and cutting me off that her mind was already made up and that she was not actively listening to me as it was going in one ear and out the other.
It’s unfortunate that the manager (Victoria) upset my parents enough that they left and were not present for the surprise party.
It is obvious that they only cared about being able to flip the tables as quickly as possibly and not about guest service or hospitality.
I wish I could say the experience eventually got better but it did not as we were met with further attitude and lack luster customer service. Nothing was resolved and the least that could’ve been done was an apology. Also the Burger Shed should reevaluate who they put in managerial roles.
Unfortunately I will not recommend anybody to dine at the Burger Shed especially if you have a larger family.

We had a great time on veterans day - night. All staff members were really welcoming and had quick useful insight into the menu. The milkshake was awesome, they have an extensive menu of options

Burgers had absolutely no taste and covered in grease. The cheese curds were just balls of grease.
