Chocolaterie Stam Altoona

It took me going elsewhere to realize how good we have it.

Whenever we go to a mall here in dsm I take my daughter and wife to the chocolate store. I buy them a few little sweets. They savor them we laugh and life is good. Honestly it is so honest and pure and sweet it will make people mad.

That being said we sent on vacation and tried to carry on the tradition at a different mall with a different chocolaterie. It was aweful.

At Stam we are blessed with a cozy setting, kind polite staff and amazingly rich, sweet, savory, ooey-gooey, concoctions that ensnare the taste buds and are a delight to behold.

The prices are so reasonable and the entire experience is so much better than those other chocolate stores with sky high prices and chocolates that taste like they were just defrosted (and not defrosted well) from the back before we ate them.

Helpful staff, delicious chocolates!!

We stopped by today to shop and spent almost $100 in shopping but we were not satisfied at all in terms of customer satisfaction! We received insensitive and uninterested service. I don't think I will go again!

The product is amazing, sadly the businesses operate on on hours they choose. They do not follow their own hours posted, especially on Valentine’s Day. They decide to open up whenever they feel like it and not at the proper time. It’s a waste of drive time because you never know when they’re gonna be open.

They are so welcoming and the gelato is spectacular.

I'm not a chocolate fan but they've got plenty of other candies and Dutch goodies as well as delicious gelato! If I'm honest, that's really all I go to Stam's for. Beautiful aesthetic! And, the staff is always great!

Chocolate is delicious, fillings could use some help. Hard to distinguish one flavor from another, but the molds are awesome, colors are done well, and the shells of the chocolates are wonderful. I can see this place thriving in such an area with little to no competition. Service was "sweet!" ?

I got a medium affogato (pictured) with the Mexican vanilla as my gelato flavor. The gelato and espresso went together perfectly, and it was one of the best frozen desserts I have ever had. The server was very friendly too, and gave me a generous portion size. I believe it came out to about $5.50 after tax. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes coffee.

Was looking for fudge. The two workers stared at us while looking. It was an awkward experience. My husband was interested in the Gelato but the guy just looked at him never offered a sample etc. Giving a 2 rating is generous. The fudge wasn't worth it.

Very disappointed. I drove out to buy a gift and there was a sign that said "Will reopen in 15 minutes". I waited 40 outside and it never opened. No phone response. Wish I didn't waste my afternoon!

1 counter worker doesn't cut it .... we waited and waited, and waited, until we finally realized we don't have 45 mins to wait and the more people came in, the more chaotic things got.... help me make sense why 1 worker the day before Thanksgiving!!! Staff shortage? There were at least 25 people in the little 200sq ft establishment and 1 worker..... we both wanted some chocolate pretty bad, so we SETTLED for fudge from bass pro shop.... should have chosen the valley west location

Great chocolaterie!!!??I love this place! They have great treats, went in to get a gift for a friend.They have fall theme chocolates this time of the year. So darling!???
