The atmosphere was great! Small cute little diner. Out waitress was one top of it all! Had the grilled chicken salad with lemon and it was amazing! The hot beef was my husband and daughters choice and enjoyed it but the beef was way to rubbery. Will come back sometime and try other things!

Fireside is my favorite place to eat in Altoona! The food is always great and love the sports bar atmosphere. I’ve used them to cater multiple events, as well, which has been top notch!

If you're looking for a decent dinner for a fair price. This place is worth the trip to Altoona. When we got here there was a 30 girl soccer team there for supper. We got seated right away. Other than our first drinks taking a few but that was to be expected. The service and waitress were top tier very well done!!! Place is a little out dated but we dnt care about a few rips in the benches. Now to the food. I admit I was pretty muffed at first cuz the first couple things I ordered they were out of on a Friday but such is life. We had the appetizers sampler, onion rings, a pizza n a burger. All the food was hot n fresh. However I have to say it was not very well seasoned at all. The chicken was just battered n fried no seasoning. The fried had no seasoning and weren't crispy but they was ok. Pizza was lacking seasoning as well as the burger was too. Now with that being said we will def be back. Lack of seasoning is easily fixable. They have all the fundamentals in place thou. The reason I gave the food a 3 outta 5 was the seasoning thru out the food n the chicken on my pizza was dry.
Fireside Grille catered and bartended our wedding and it was absolutely amazing - our guests could not stop talking about how great the food and service was all night! I found Nolan/Fireside through a friend as she had them cater her wedding, and she couldn't say enough great things about working with him. I will definitely be recommending them the same way. From our first tasting, Nolan made us feel like whatever we wanted, he could make happen - and that was proven to be true! Communication was transparent and easy leading up to the wedding day and there were no surprises - I was able to totally relax once I saw they were all set up and ready to go ahead of when they were scheduled to be. Their team was so flexible and accommodating throughout the entire planning process and truly went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of to make our day a success. Thank you, Fireside!!!

I went through Fireside for my wedding and it was a SMASH HIT. People loved it, Nolan works with you to create a menu you love, and his service is top notch. I can’t wait for my cousin wedding as she will also be using Nolan and I know it’ll be so good. Seriously love this place. Doesn’t get more Iowa kind, tasty, or local than this.

Fireside Grille catering sets itself apart from the rest. Nolan provides above and beyond customer service. He offered to pick up our cake and buy back our unopened alcohol. He also provided linens and alcohol for an affordable price. During our tasting he made a decent amount of two different meals (bbq or Mexican), all complementary. The employees that worked our event were on time and courteous. There is no catering contract which initially made me nervous because I am very type A. But I trusted him after speaking over the phone and reading the positive reviews on a wedding Facebook group. As a diy budget bride with no wedding coordinator he helped me tackle one of the biggest parts of the reception. Lastly we went with a taco bar and all the guests loved it. There was plenty of food.
