The only thing saving this subway was the fact that it's apparently the only one that accepts any sort of coupons in Altoona. Ordered a sandwich to go on the app while on my lunch break and what I got was not entirely what I had ordered. They did not have the bread I ordered, I had to search for the cheese, and despite asking for extra sauces they were incredibly scant I'm not even sure they were present.

They also don't seem to do make ahead orders until you get there which is extremely inconvenient but not really an issue cuz at least then I can be certain it's fresh.

As for the staff I didn't really have an issue. There's a lot of just random background noise here so they have a hard time hearing folks who are a little more soft spoken. One of them seems like they've had a long day and is kinda snappy but she's also older and more than likely doesn't want to be there so I understand.

The atmosphere and store cleanliness could be improved but that's more on subway corporate for leaving the floors bare concrete which was dumb. The glass on the make table was dirty and streaky like they either rarely clean it or just use water to wipe it off through the day. This store just feels dirty.

Watched several customers come in and the store did not have what they wanted so customers had to constantly make changes to what I can assume is their usual orders. Most of the drinks on the pop machine were out of order and their bottled selection is quite limited.

Didn’t get the rude woman’s name, and I say woman lightly being she acted like a child throwing a tantrum. I have a 15 year old that would NEVER behave the way she did even if he “had been working 24 hours and every time someone came in while he was attempting to make his own sandwich to eat, preventing him from eating.” She had glasses, piercings and a tattoo above her right eye. I go to this location ALL the time and have even dealt with her before without any issues but this time she was rude as all get out. She repeatedly made snarky comments about not being able to eat, even telling her coworker in the back “watch, I bet my sandwich won’t even be warm by the time I get done.” She slammed the door closed after getting the bread, slammed the oven closed, had the biggest attitude with every question she asked me about what I wanted on the two sandwiches I ordered and I finally lost my patience and gave her an earful about how rude, unprofessional and disrespectful she was. I have worked in the service industry many years so at the end, I told her that it was unfortunate that she had been working 24 hours straight and that I understood her frustration however, it was not my fault that she was not able to eat her sandwich because I walked in to order my food. I reminded her that it was her job to do so and the entire way she acted was uncalled for. I told her if she was so hungry then she should have saved her attitude and asked her coworker to come out and take over for her. She did not look at me once, kept her head down and then finally I told the young man behind me that I hope she was not as rude to him as she was me. I then told her I usually leave them a 5 dollar tip every time I'm in there, but I was not doing that today. She finally piped up and said "That's fine by me." I laughed and told her that that's the attitude I would continue to have after someone complained about my attitude as well. (Sarcastically) I was beyond pissed and shocked Because they have always had great customer service, when I have been there at least. It takes a lot for me to take the time to leave a bad review, so that speaks volumes. We all have our moments, but having literally just been discharged from the hospital for serious health issues and on my way home, this is the last thing i wanted to deal with. She needs to find a new job that doesn't involve her interacting with customers or helping others in any way, shape or form. utterly disgusted with that entire experience. Hopefully her boss sees this and says something to her because that was completely uncalled for. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a fast food restaurant.

Looking at recent reviews was confusing to me. I walked in place was spotless great interaction and after leaving left a tip. I'd gave it a 6 star . I have been to most Subways Altoona/ Eastside/ Westside and in Algona never had I recieved poor service and most of the time stores are clean. I do remember during Covid Subway kept there doors open and I applaud there consistency of Product Service and Pricing.

Worst customer service. No employees came out for 10mins. About left…Then the employees finally came out of the back and was very rude. You could barely hear the lady talk and she avoided eye contact. If you hate your job that much, you could find a job somewhere else. Everyone is hiring.

Ordered a Bella and it was made with Roast Beef, which is not even close to what it should be (ham/capicola) It was awful. It’s my favorite sandwich and was really looking forward to having it tonight for dinner. Will not order from this store again.

Rude employees who can't manage to clean empty tables when there are no customers.

Vegetarian options: Their case is full of different veggies! You can get any or all of them on a sub, and as much as you want.

Parking: Parking is no problem and its right outside the entrance

And bad ServiceI was the only person there in line to order a sandwich, clerk came from the back room washed his hands and was going to take my order, however someone else walked in and he helped them at the register. Then another person walks in and he then helps them at the register. I finally said um I was here first he said he was helping another customer, granted he just came out of the back room.He never did help me. Another staff member came out and helped me. Worse service ever!!! Mind u I was in a wheel chair and stood up so I know he saw me.

Just realized why people confuse the 8th street store and this one, who ever posted the pictures for the Walmart store is and absolute idiot or the Walmart store is falsely promoting what there store looks like. anyway all the inside pictures are all of the 8th street store and trust me the two stores are very different; Walmart has no windows connected to the outside it has pretzels and they take coupons unlike 8th street who is owned by different people then here

I visited this establishment and was a rude awakening. There were two older ladies and a very nice young lady working there. My son ordered 3 footling turkey sub sandwiches on Italian herbs n cheese. The older work grabbed the first bread, cut it open, put cheese on it as requested and handed the sub over to the young lady. The young lady asked my son what he would like on the Sandwich and my son told her. Meanwhile the older lady asked my son what bread..he told her all 3 are the same bread, meat, veggies and condiment's. She turned around and grab a bread and cut it open. My son told her it was the wrong bread. She opened the breadbox. Literally tossed the bread in there and grabbed the correct bread. She again asked my son, he said all three sandwiches are the same..and she did the same thing with the third sandwiche..seriously? It was a very unpleasant experience ordering three same sandwiches. My son wanted the footlong cut in half and wrapped separately, they didn't know what he was talking about. So he had to explain to them step by step how to wrap the sandwiches separately. Meanwhile another lady rang up the register and I asked for military discounts and showed her my military ID. She said " we do not give the military discount, the manager said not to give any discouns to the military" . I said ok and paid for my food. When the young lady was making the last sandwich, another older lady rang me up again. I politely said "ma'am we already paid". She didn't believe me and she went around and asked all the other workers. Finally someone told her we already paid. I thanked them and left. I do not recommend getting sandwiches from this franchisee.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Last night I ordered a sandwich/meal for delivery and when my food was delivered the Doordash driver stated the store was already closed and my sandwich was cold. On top of that, the bread looked old and stale almost and it had a weird odor so I couldn’t eat it. Tried to call today, got hung up on and no one would answer. As someone who’s worked in customer service, this is beyond rude and I’m never ordering from here again!
