Fun place to eat and gather after BB games. Greatc staff too.
This place was a wonderful spot for brunch. The food was great for a decent price, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and it was an overall great spot to grab a bite! Would love to come here again:)
Wow what a disappointing experience. The service was great, but everything else was pretty bad. My hot dog was still cold, it was obvious they just zapped a frank and a can of chili in the microwave for a minute and called it food. The fries were really good, though. Ended up paying $17 for a double coney dog and fries! What is this, a baseball game?
The location is a sterile, generic strip mall outlet box, and has the personality of a wet towel. It has none of the charm of the original location. There's a bunch of kitschy clutter haphazardly strewn on the walls in an attempt to give the place a modicum of 50s flare, but it ends up as anemic and geriatric as the entire customer base was when I visited. The A&W over on University does a measurably better job at recreating that classic americana vibe.
I didn't get any ice cream while I was here, but as a soda fountain this is the obvious appeal of the place- just skip the food! The gals who work here are all great, though!
The manager is condescending not nice said I didn't know what i was talking about even though im a chef
Friendly staff. Needed 50s & 60s music.

Love the burgers! Fantastic customer service .
Amazing food and ice cream! Servers are great.
I ordered the Chicago style dog which on the menu comes with tomato, onion, pickle, relish and peppers. I asked for just onions and relish. The hot dog came out and just had onions on it. It was not made how I ordered it. I had asked about the relish and the waitress says it doesn't come with relish. (Why would it be listed if it didn't come with relish?) She went to ask. some guy came up with a cup of "relish" maybe it was the owner not sure. He was a bit rude and had this know it all attitude and says just so you know relish is just cut up pickles and said he thought maybe i was allergic to pickles. He gave me cut up pickles not relish. (Why would you have both listed on the menu if its the same thing to you?) Im from Chicago. I know what's on a Chicago style hot dog. Relish and pickles are similar but not the same thing. This guy clearly had no idea what they were talking about. They had no business coming up to the table like that. I wasn't being rude or mean to the waitress. I wasn't about to argue and make a scene. Will not be going back. Food tasted fine otherwise. This guy ruined our lunch and we didn't even finish and asked for to go containers.

The food for breakfast was good, decently priced. But what was the best aspect was how welcoming and pleasant the staff and owner were. The premises were clean and the memorabilia was interesting.
