What can you NOT find in the south? An awesome tenderloin sandwich. And Sugar Shack has a really good one.

This is a hidden gem of the Des Moines metro if you have kids. Great kids sized meals and overall pricing. The service is top notch too!

Ordered a sausage and cheese omelet with hash browns 😋 The eggs were so fluffy. Delicious! I recommend.

The food was really good and our server was Taryn and she was amazing. Only problem was when we were paying, this Kim lady was really rude to us and giving us looks. She was also pretty rude to the server. Not to mention when we were leaving she was just sitting in a corner on her phone. Besides Kim, everything was amazing!

I got tenderloins, onion rings, and fries. The tenderloins were cooked too long ruining any flavor they potentially had. The onion rings were a mushy mess. The fries were ok. I had been told that this is where you get the best tenderloins. Maybe at one time.

This place was a wonderful spot for brunch. The food was great for a decent price, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and it was an overall great spot to grab a bite! Would love to come here again:)

Wow what a disappointing experience. The service was great, but everything else was pretty bad. My hot dog was still cold, it was obvious they just zapped a frank and a can of chili in the microwave for a minute and called it food. The fries were really good, though. Ended up paying $17 for a double coney dog and fries! What is this, a baseball game?
The location is a sterile, generic strip mall outlet box, and has the personality of a wet towel. It has none of the charm of the original location. There's a bunch of kitschy clutter haphazardly strewn on the walls in an attempt to give the place a modicum of 50s flare, but it ends up as anemic and geriatric as the entire customer base was when I visited. The A&W over on University does a measurably better job at recreating that classic americana vibe.
I didn't get any ice cream while I was here, but as a soda fountain this is the obvious appeal of the place- just skip the food! The gals who work here are all great, though!
