ALL TIME FAVORITE!!! This is THE place to go in Ames. Quincy and Noah are the best and will take amazing care of you! The entire staff is amazing as well! My fiancé and I absolutely love this place!! 12/10 experience! My advice, get the blackened chicken Angel hair and BBQ shrimp, it is amazing!!

The Brandy Alexander was the PO perfect compliment to the French Dip!

I have to assume my experience at Aunt Maude's was a one off...maybe the regular chef was off duty today. The service and staff were friendly and attentive, but my dish was so flavorless it was inedible. Even the salad was aweful, because it was served on a hot plate along with my pasta and therefore the lettuce was wilted before I could take my first bite. The dressing was delicious, but the salad was wilted and just gross. Oh, well, I thought, move on to the yummy pasta premavera. This was my first trip to Aunt Maudes, and I was there with my two sons, celebrating my eldest's birthday. I ordered the Vegetable Pasta Primivara frim the lunch menu, which even came recommended. It was bland, bland, bland. The vegetables were fresh and cooked well, and the other ingreadient were okay, but the darned thing had no flavor, and I couldn't add enough salt to make it edible. The menu mentioned lemon juice and parmeson in being in the dish, but there wasn't even a hint if either ingredient. The fresh herbs helped some, but at over $20.00 a lunch plate to say my first vistit to Aunt Maudes was a disappointment is a huge understatement. The saving grace was that both of my sons dishes (the pesto salmon and a burger and fries) were actually delicious.

Old style, dimly lit steakhouse. Service was good. Food was quite good and a nice change of pace from the chains. Not off the charts, but was overall satisfied.

So disappointed. Thought this was an upscale restaurant but my omelette was swimming in grease from the overcooked (deep fried) potatoes.

Fun place. Limited hours. Check out the drinks and dessert menu!!

Aunt Maude’s has arguably been the best restaurant in Ames for decades!

I don’t know who Maude ever was, but her tri-tip is great in salad, sandwich, or solo!

I thought Ames was too small to have this many good restaurants - but yet it does. I was happy to get right in without a reservation and be served delicious food.

The service was also very good. I got the angel hair chicken and wifey got the boneless short ribs.

Can't say enough about our dining experience at Aunt Maude's! Everything was just awesome from our bartender to our hostess, Camry, to our sweet server, Quincy! Everyone was very attentive and our meals were so delicious! The turkey chili was next level! My husband's Bourbon Renewal cocktail was so tasty, too!

We were a party of 9 for Fay Gish Hill’s birthday. I hadn’t eaten at Maude’s for many years, but everything was perfect last night. Our waiter, Jeff, did a fantastic job.He shared that it was early in his employment. He couldn’t have done better.
