Really wanted this place to awesome and we were so excited to go here on date night. To preface we did go during spring break, so maybe their normal staff were out on vacation. The location is super cool with a very discrete access through a false cooler door. The actual speak easy is very nice and had good seating options. Unfortunately, that's when things went down... the lighting in there was surprisingly bright. There was no waiter/waitress, but the bartender didn't tell us that while we walked in. Eventually we walked up to the bar and ordered our drinks from the bartender. The drink prices were very fairly priced with a good selection. It took a VERY long time for the bartender to make our drinks despite the speak easy not being very busy. Once we got the drinks they were mediocre at best on not overly complicated cocktails. Hoping that this experience was a fluke due to Spring Break as really excited to see cool establishments popping up in Ames.

An excellent place for a few high end drinks. Excellent liquor selection with a few beers, so something for everyone. Bartenders are very knowledgeable and are will to be creative should you see a spirit you like on the shelf that isn't on the menu.

I had never even heard of this place. How cool is it to have a speakeasy behind a liquor store?The decor and whole ambiance about the place was so awesome!!I went here with a group of people celebrating a 10 week challenge.It would be awesome to go back again!

Even on a busy night, you don't have to wait that long for your drinks to be made since the bartender are exceptionally skilled and quick. Make sure to get there a bit early though on the weekend if you want a place to sit for a while.
