Definitely recommend to meat lovers……and of course the cornbread. Great atmosphere, delicious foods, and waitress was great.
Loved the brisket, mashed potatoes, and namesake cornbread.

My family and I visited here on a Wednesday evening. The host was not friendly, we were told we had to wait 10+ minutes for a table, weather we sat inside or out. We chose out. We waited. After 10 -15 minutes they placed us outside at the picnic tables though there was a clean empty table infront of us. They sat a couple at a 6 seater table but sat us and our children at the picnic table. We asked to sit at the other 6 seater table, the waitress hesitated but said yes. Our waitress was kind, she was prompt, and busy. The food was okay. Alot of spins of traditional dishes, some of it was weird. The brisket was delicious. They gave slightly racist energy, didn't care where we sat as long as it out of the way. Idk seemed rude for the amount of money we spent there, almost $100 wont be back. Dont recommend.

Great food, awesome service! Every time it's a wonderful experience!
Our family loved everything: the brisket, three pigs sandwich, brisket dip, cornbread appetizer.... And we were able to sit outside with our pup in tow. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. It really made our day with family great.
Street corn was not great IMO.. Wings (flappers) were absolutely AMAZING!! Wife had the salad and street corn. Loved the salad! Same reaction on the corn. She also got the brown sugar lemonade and LOVED that! Kid got the Mac and cheese skillet and said it was good but wasn't a fan of the extra extra cheese.
As apps we had the cornbread pudding, candy bacon strips, and mini cornbread muffins. All of those were super good! Candy bacon is a 10/10!!
Service and atmosphere felt top notch for a BBQ place or restaurant in general! Casual dinning, date night, or family event.. all recommend!!
Overall first time we have been there but not the last!

I loved the burnt ends--excellent! The Friday steak special was gigantic and was liked by many at our table. Our server was also very good. My go to dinner spot when I'm visiting my son in school. I wish I had one of these restaurants near me. Thanks for all the spectacular memories there!!

Really good BBQ, the best we have had in Ames. The turkey was a little dry and salty but the pulled pork, the beans and the hush puppies were all excellent. Highly recommend the Tangy Mustard sauce!

Pretty good BBQ for Iowa. Brisket was subpar, turkey was good, ribs were good, pulled pork was ok, sausage was good. Brisket Dip was good. Cocktail was very nice. Would return

Holy buckets this place has great food!! We had the hushpuppies, the three little pigs, the hamburger, and the bread pudding - my belly is so full and my heart is so happy!! Great atmosphere, and our server was so nice! The food was worth the short wait to order. 10/10 would eat here again!!

Brought the family here for move in weekend at Iowa State after hearing so many good things. It lived up to the hype. Brisket dip, fired pork sandwich and burnt ends were all fantastic. The beer and drink menu were great as well.
