Best bar in Ames hands down. Tequila bar is unique to the area. Bouncers are very kind and thorough with their ID checks to ensure no underage people enter. Bartenders created a drink catered to my preferences. Will definitely be returning every weekend!

CY's Roost is simply the best environment I've ever experienced inside a college bar atmosphere. The bouncer, Pete, is a kind soul and is always highly skilled at his job and is always in a happy mood when I see him. Two of the male bartenders, a tall ginger, and a very sexy young man with a mullet, always give me the best drink and shot recommendations and make me feel unique!

Went to this bar for the first time and the bouncer was asking for two forms of identification to get into the bar. Never in my 34 years of life in any state nor government office have I ever had to provide two forms of IDs. Now this wasn’t the icing on the cake, when we left and decided to bring more friends to this establishment, one of our foreigner friends had an ID from their country and it was not accepted only to be proceeded by getting asked to get their picture taken and another picture of their ID. Mind you this is a bouncer or should I say the manager asking to keep those pictures on his personal phone. Not even police officers are allowed to do that. I very patiently educated the manager or bouncer about the legal problems that could arise if they continued to do that. Although I find it hard to believe that they do that to the majority of college students that go through that door. Mind you my friend group had no one younger than 21. Most of us, late 20s and early 30s. It felt racially motivated as we were all Latinos. It’s hard to ignore behavior like that when I’ve never had a bouncer ask for a face and ID pic to keep on his phone. Over all experience was a zero as we barely made it into the actual bar.

Dont waste your time here. I went there with some friends. And spent about 2 hours until we got a drink. A drink that was 95% not alcohol. Ive had better nights at a 24hr kum and go. Workers were rude and bouncers try their best to make you wait forever
