Food had 0 taste and shell was old and dry
We waited over 20 minutes for our food just to have :
Taco was decent. Queso & chips were better.
Dont believe I will ever go back. Ordered a cheese quesadilla missed the most important part of a cheese quesadilla..... the cheese. Our chips for the queso, were a joke 90% were crushed. (Ate here 3 weeks ago just getting around to reviewing.) Very sad you would thing being in campus town they'd be on point. Hope they improve as theres a lot of competition in Campus town. Would hate to see a business close, especially due to poor employees.
I have loved Fuzzys since first trying it in around 2011 in Oklahoma, and today I went for lunch at the one in Ames, IA with my in laws. The mexi rice was 100% obviously from the day before since it was dark and hard and terrible to eat. Both my grandma and mother in law had the rice and immediately took it back. They also had refried beans and was messily stuffed in the paper cup queso goes in but there was plenty of room to go on the plate which was weird. Also, every single item we all ordered was barely warm. This is the first negative experience I've ever had in my 100x eating there and will never go back to this location. Furthermore, it took 10 minutes for an employee to come greet us and take our order. Makes sense why no one else was there to eat at lunch time.
Went in today to order a couple of California Heat tacos as they have been good in the past. The order was correct. However, the taco was so soaked in sauce, that they fell apart immediately. Was very disappointed in my visit. It may be a while before I decide to try again.
Unacceptable slow service. There's several other taco places around that I don't see me going to that ot another Fuzzy's location ever. Also, world famous queso!? I wouldn't say they are in the top 5 for the city much less the world
Ate a "lunch" there around noonish on October 25th, 2019. One star is one star to many. We were met with a rude, non-customer service oriented, cashier who took our order. My wife ordered a quesadilla, son a kids taco plate and I a shrimp taco and shredded chicken burrito. We all ordered chips and queso as a appetizer. Cashier was not friendly at all. My wife had to walk away as the cashiers demeanor was upsetting her. I chose to be awkwardly and sarcastically nice to the cashier. We sat for nearly ten minutes after being told our chips and queso appetizer would be ready "soon" after ordering before my wife had enough and went up to the kitchen area to request them. As she did that she noticed our sons taco plate was already sitting up there for an unknown amount of time. As we sat there waiting for our order buzzer to vibrate or light up we notice how many vacant seats there are considering it's the noon hour. Another 10 minutes goes by waiting for our order before it is finally ready. Now 20 minutes to get what we ordered is unacceptable nor realistic when you take into consideration competitors (Pancheros and Chipotle) can have the same order made in less then 5 minutes with the same number of employees. We got our food to the table and my wife noticed her cheese only quesadilla didnt look very cheesy. She opened the 12" tortilla to find probably 10 pieces of shredded cheese melted. No joke. We paid $5 for a cheese quesadilla not $5 for a tortilla. She instantly wanted a refund on hers. I told her I wouldn't eat and we could get a refund on mine also as I thought it would be considerate to do so. She insisted I eat so I began to eat my meal. My wife got a refund from the manager and the manager offered to remake the quesadilla even after the refund was given. My wife declined the offer as the whole experience from the moment we walked in there ruined her appetite. Overall I was not impressed with what I got either. Burrito fell apart with every bite as opposed to competitor burritos who stay together bite for bite throughout the while dining experience. Shrimp taco was a mess to eat also. My sons rice that came with his taco plate was dry and tasted undercooked. He tried a bite and complained so I tried a bite and was also unimpressed. Wr took notice of two college aged friends who sat when they got their order. They took a few bites. Made a few looks at one another and some comments before they just got up and walked out and left everything at the table, barely touched and uneaten. Just overall a disgusting place to eat. I regret suggesting trying it for lunch. If we had to do it over again we would have walked out as soon as we were greeted with the rude demeanor of the cashier that took our order. I cannot emphasize enough how disgusting this place was in terms of food and overall experience. It is in campus town so they're probably geared toward feeding drunk college kids who wouldn't know what good food was. People have raved about this place to me before...I dont see what the hype is. We will continue to eat at Pancheros from here on out when we want a quick taco, quesadilla or burrito meal.
Long wait, cold tacos, and DDRRRRYYYYY meat. Had the shredded brisket, chicken, and pork. Was so dry that I could feel the food being pushed down into my stomach by a drink of water. Definitely want to take things slow, might choke. Thought about starting a rival taco spot that serves water soaked sawdust, since it would probably go down smoother. Cashier was super nice though.
So... they messed up my order previously and gave me a $20 voucher so decided to go in yesterday. Ugh. I’ve decided this is it. Ordered a fajita plate and 2 taco plate. Asked specifically if the tacos had sour cream, were told no, got sour cream. The shells were also stale and rice hard as if it was burnt. The fajita plate- well- came with no tortillas. I called them and the girl (Courtney) said I walked away to fast. Well the thing is, the food was waiting for about 5 minu

I went here for the first time last week, and the staff was so helpful that I plan on going back multiple times a week. The customization of the tacos and other foods makes sure that you always have your favorite dish
For one, the place is a joke to work for, two, long wait times because of high turn-over employees-constantly training new people, three, not child friendly, and four, not worth your $$$. Not sorry for posting the truth. I quit working the 8/31/19, couldn't take the crap there any more.
I really don't like putting a business on blast but this is kind of deserved. The two redeeming qualities are that the cashier was nice and very apologetic and the chips and queso was pretty good. The bad part was how long our food took. We sat in the restaurant for close to an hour waiting for our food to arrive and at the time there where under 10 people in the restaurant. Then once we did get our food my brisket tacos I got where cold and for my girlfriends breakfast burrito the potatoes where undercooked and tasted like dirt and the rest of the ingredients were burnt. They did offer us free chips and queso on our next visit but I personally don't feel I will be visiting again for a while.
I've tried fuzzes about 5 times. And only once was it good. Good meaning I went to the ankeny location. Ames location is beyond horrible. I waited over an hour for 3, yes 3 tacos. I left because I couldn't bare it anymore and asked for a refund. The hostess was apologetic and I asked for a refund. She wasn't capable of refunding it so she advised me she would forward my info to the manager for her to contact me to give me a refund. I can't tell you the countless times this place has burned me. Never again. If you EVER go to Fuzzy in Ankeny you will be shocked how they are like a well oiled machine and food is just flying from the kitchen. But Ames? A total S*** Show.
They were training new staff and made us aware right away and made sure our experience was great. Great bar service and food was delicious as always. Shoutout to Kelli, Kaleb and Fred for great service!
