Wonderful atmosphere and can make custom teas along with having dozens of available blends pre-made. Anything tea is found here
Amazing selection of curated teas. Wonderful personable staff. You can purchase loose leaf tea, many tea supplies and they also will prepare tea and tea lattes to take with you or drink there.
Several years ago, I was in town for an event in downtown Ames and started to come down with flu symptoms. I was 8 weeks pregnant and had lost my previous pregnancy after falling ill, so naturally I was terrified of it happening again. I walked out of the venue and right across the street was this little tea shop. I told the girl at the counter what was going on and she pulled out a book (I presume to confirm safety) then poured me a huge cup of echinacea tea. Within two hours I felt completely well. I will forever be thankful to this place for helping me and my baby, who is now a happy and healthy 7-year-old girl.
I adore this place. The tea is delicious and the staff are lovely!
Staff is awesome
Love this place! It’s my go-to spot with an amazing atmosphere. The drinks are always consistent and delicious. I usually get the matcha, and it’s perfect every time—unlike other coffee shops where it can be clumpy. I’ve never had that issue here! Highly recommend—worth every penny!
Normally I have a great time shopping at this cute little tea store. However, the lady who checked me out didn’t seem to care about the business and just wanted to chat with her coworkers. Don’t get me wrong I love chatting with my coworkers but you at least have to say hi or wish someone a good day. I said thank you and all I got “mhm” in return.
Got a great Christmas gift and the employee was very polite, and helpful.
:)
One of my favorite little shops. Great hot drinks and amazing variety of loose teas. Employees are always so helpful and knowledgeable.
Not impressed. I have tried 5 different teas, 2 were a Birthday gift and 3 were bought with a gift card last year. No flavor and very weak regardless of how much tea I place in the cup. I am better off with Celestial Seasonings or Frontier bulk tea at Wheatsfield. I really wanted to like it but just can’t.

Best tea shop in town! Definitely swing by if you’re looking for a drink when you’re visiting Main Street.
Who would expect a little college town in central Iowa to have the best tea shop? I fell in love with Little Woods when I was a student at ISU and became a regular customer when I stayed in the area after graduation. Their loose leaf tea has always felt very high quality to me, certainly more flavorful than your average store bought tea bags. Not to mention better selection. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly in my experience, and the store is clean and calming. I absolutely loved buying a tea (this is a great way to taste before you invest in a bag of loose leaf!) on Saturday mornings before going to the main street farmers market. I moved to a larger city a year ago now, but I miss Little Woods dearly as I have not found a comparable shop here. Thankfully, I can still order from Little Woods online and stop by when I visit my younger sister at ISU. To this day, Little Woods remains my favorite local shop. If y'all ever make apparel, I'll buy!
The nitro tap teas are delicious! Cute little shop and friendly people.
This is a great little shop to checkout if you like tea. They have a huge selection and are reasonably priced. Got some chai and local honey. Very happy I stopped by. Highly recommended a visit.
I stopped in this shop for the first time and it was such a great experience! The workers are very kind and knowledgeable and there is such a great selection of dried tea blends!
