After quite a hectic and frustrating few days, my wife and I needed a mental health day. If had been a few years since we browsed downtown Ames. We stumbled upon Marmalade Moon quite by accident. What a fantastic place! The owners are just wonderful people. The ice cream and sorbet are all made in house. To date they have mixed over 150 flavors. To call this business a gem is an understatement! Our mental health day was a success, with much credit given to Marmalade Moon! Check this place out! You will NOT be disappointed!
A charming, quintessential, brick and mortar Little shop that has it all. Loved the coffee, the chocolate chip cookies and the pretzel was my favorite. Lovely, kind people. A must see
Interesting place. It's an ice cream shop, café, gift shop, and work hub all rolled into one. I like the versatility of it. What I didn't like was how underwhelming the affogato was, how horribly the ice cream was scooped, and how unfriendly the service was. Would not suggest. Maybe better training is warranted. The girls behind the counter were really young but that's not an excuse for the lack of knowledge and enthusiasm.

This adorable ice cream shop in Downtown Ames, Iowa is a gem. The ice cream is delicious and very affordable. The service was great and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Of note were the inclusive/all gender bathrooms! Very LBGTQIA+ Friendly ?
Vegetarian options: This being an ice cream place, there were no meat options available.
Kid-friendliness: My 11 year old son was with me and he felt very comfortable. They also had a gift shop and he got two squishy toys.

The ice cream was delicious! The service was surprisingly uncomfortable. No one smiled and they just weren’t welcoming. I was disappointed with the service.

Cute little spot located on Main Street. Fairly priced hard scoop ice cream also delicious drinks and lattes and teas. They have a lot of novelty items as well like jewelry and candles and some mix and match items.I got the mango tajin ice cream and it was so good!

Amazing homemade ice cream. I love the rotating unique flavors. It’s like the ice cream version of Crumbl Cookies.
