After quite a hectic and frustrating few days, my wife and I needed a mental health day. If had been a few years since we browsed downtown Ames. We stumbled upon Marmalade Moon quite by accident. What a fantastic place! The owners are just wonderful people. The ice cream and sorbet are all made in house. To date they have mixed over 150 flavors. A charming, quintessential, brick and mortar Little shop that has it all. Loved the coffee, the chocolate chip cookies and the pretzel was my favorite. Lovely, kind people. A must see ��
Interesting place. It's an ice cream shop, café, gift shop, and work hub all rolled into one. I like the versatility of it. What I didn't like was how underwhelming the affogato was, how horribly the ice cream was scooped, and how unfriendly the service was. Would not suggest. Maybe better training is warranted. The girls behind the counter were really young but that's not an excuse for the lack of knowledge and enthusiasm.
