Delicious food, great customer service, and clean! What more could you ask for? Also you are supporting a local business 👌

I get a burrito from here about once every other week. Their burritos are by far better than the major franchises like chipotle.
Best burrito in town, very delicious and authentic This place is small but very neat, people here are very friendly
Absolutely blown away by the food here at Mr. Burrito during my visit. It was so good that I ate far more than I normally do, and far more than I definitely should have. And I feel zero guilt either, because it all went to supporting a genuine small family business. Ingredients are quality, service is fast, and even the chips they use for the nachos are somehow better than normal. On top of that, they have almost all the Jarritos flavors for sale, to continue to fuel my foreign soda addiction. Would give it more than 5 stars if I could.
I love Mr. Burrito! Hands-down the best burrito in Ames. They are the loveliest family and always so kind to all of their customers. Great food and amazing small business owners. A true staple of the Ames community!
I frequently see police officers and Iowa State professors getting food at Mr. Burrito. A favorite of many students. The restaurant is owned and staffed by a small family from Mexico. They are extremely nice people who serve amazing food in a small, local establishment. You would struggle to find anything more authentic in the midwest. You are able to select from a large varieties of hot sauce options (or none if you like) with options to go very hot if you choose. Most people get their food to go and they now have online delivery.
Best selection for burrito joints in Ames. The meat, toppings, and sauces are all amazing. Try the chorizo in a burrito. Reasonably priced for the size of burrito.
Yes, this very small and modest establishment (seats maybe 10-16?) serves the best and most authentic Mexican food of any restaurant in Ames, and is owned and run by a Mexican family. They specialize in fast food, so tacos, tortas, etc.are the main items you will find here. You order at the counter and watch as the staff assemble your items. Everything is cooked from scratch. I can't say for certain whether the corn tortillas are made locally (they do taste homemade) but they are definitely fried fresh for your order, as you watch. You choose from a wide range of meats, including lengua and tripe, and choose whatever else you want in your item. The food is very tasty, 100% authentic Mexican, and always hot. They really stuff the tacos full of whatever meat you choose and then add whatever else you want. The owners are very friendly, efficient, and helpful. Prices are very affordable and reasonable. The only drawback is the small size of the restaurant does not always allow seating, so you may want to plan for carry out.
