Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom

I have eaten here several times over the years. Tonight was the worst service I have ever had in a restaurant. My husband and I started in the bar area. After 15 minutes of waiting and not being approached by a server we moved over to the dining room hoping for better service. We were seated quickly and our drink order was taken along with our food. It took 10 minutes to get a drink and our food came out soon after. We were there an hour and a half and saw our server twice. She took our order and delivered it. That was it. We finally got a different server to bring us a container for left overs and had to go to the hostess station to get our bill paid. While we were trying to get our bill paid a table of 8-10 people next to us received the wrong appetizer and couldn’t get drinks. The entire table got up, left the food, and walked out. The hostess offered us a coupon that we turned down. A coupon isn’t going to get me back in there anytime soon. We drove an hour and a half for this terrible service. I wish we had picked one of the other options we had been considering.

Initially waited for 20+ minutes after being seated. I had to go to the stand at remind them we had been seated. hostess grabbed a waitress who then took our ENTIRE order (drinks, apps, & entrée). Currently been waiting another probably 10+ mins and we still don't have our drinks. there was 5 other tables with ppl at them so definitely not busy. Quite disappointed as we've never eaten here and chose this over our regular dining restaurant.

Our family loves this restaurant ! We were in DesMoines, and had a wonderful time. The waitress was great, as was the food. We really miss having an Old Chicago in our area.

Definitely could use more than 5 stars on the service we received tonight from Angela! Best server I've had in quite some time, and possibly ever. She's very energetic and such a fun server. She seriously deserves a pay raise! We're from out of town, but would make the 3 hour drive just to have her be our server again. Food was excellent too. Fried pickles hit the spot, and the deep dish pizza was the topping on the cake. Wish we had room for dessert.

Every time I go to this location the service is completely mediocre. Me and my roommate Ordered 4 items for pickup from the Old Chicago website and it said ready in 20 minutes. My roommate arrived on time and had to wait almost 40 minutes in a not busy at all establishment for our food.

Food was excellent, service was horrible. Our waitress Sammie, took our order, brought out the food, drinks and we never saw her again. I had to ask another waitress for our ticket & she tracked down Sammie so I could pay my bill. Btw, it took Sammie 8 minutes to come back with my card. I’ll add there were only 3 tables with people sitting at them besides ours. She did not have the other tables. Worst service I’ve had in a long time.

Nice place that was located near the hotel we were staying at. Lots of food choices and everything we ordered was good. The staff there was really nice.

Good spot to stop in especially if you are arriving in town in the evening - Many places in Ames, IA seem to close early during the week.
