I've read several reviews that the interior of the restaurant needs an update because it is "so 1980s" so let me put my vote in that I like it that way and I have since I was a student at ISU actually in the 1980s. The nostalgia of many wonderful meals in a place that is recognizable is a great comfort. Now the Pizza is my favorite in the entire world. There are definitely better places in the world but no one has had a kind enough heart to point them out to me. I'm also enough of a pizza heretic to enjoy pineapple on my meat lovers pizza. I did burn my chin on a hot slice there 40 years ago. So glad I kept coming.

Spotless, good selection of pizzas, nice personalized ambiance--not your tired, formulaic restaurant. Mixed crowd of locals, ISU students and profs, young and old. Bonus: you can order food from Pizza Pit while downstairs at Welch Avenue Station. And spotless! Super clean!! Same can be said for Welch Avenue Station.

College town pizza at its finest. Have been eating here since i was a kid. I have never once been disappointed with the quality of the pizza in 15+ years. If you are ever in Ames, this is a must stop.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a long ramp on the backside of the building, along with handicap parking spots.

We were traveling home and spent the night in Ames. Having two small kids with us we decided to order pizza and the hotel staff said the Pizza Pit had great pizza and the Taco Pizza was the best. We ordered three pizzas, Taco, Deluxe Combo and a cheese for the kids. The Taco did not disappoint, amazing. Actually ALL the pizza were great. So glad we found the place and the next time we pass through, we will make sure to stop in! Thank you to all the staff and the delivery person!

Bartender did not offer to clean our table and he did not provide assistance on their order process. He was not friendly and or customer service oriented when I asked him for assistance. My wife and I immediately departed this establishment and found a fantastic Brazilian restaurant one block down the street!

WOW!! Best pizza I've had in a long time... anywhere! I travel a lot.. I'm a Traveling Chef, was tired and in need of pizza after 4 weeks in Ames. Thin crust.. tender & chewy, perfectly crispy on the edge.. sauce.. tangy & not acidic, pepperoni.. again perfect! (Cooked, slight curl, a little crisp on the edges) Cheese .. perfect ratio. ... delivery... on time & hot! I'll be a patron every time I'm in this area.. & tell all my fellow travelers the same! I'm def a "Pit" fan!!

I've had better. The menu choices were not what I'd hoped for at the end of a challenging day.Vegetarian options: Minimal. They only offered canned mushrooms on their veggie pizza which is disappointing.
