They offer a family pack with 3 lbs of meat (Carnitas, Birria, and Carne Asada) and warm tortillas, trimmings, and a two-liter soda. The Birria brisket tacos and tortas are highly recommended, and the quesabirrias are extremely juicy and loaded with filling. The side of consume is perfectly balanced, not too rich, and has a nice beefy flavor. The rice is fluffy and well-seasoned.
The menu includes pupusas with fillings like chorizo, bean, and cheese, crispy and fluffy with a great char. The sopaipillas are fluffy, crispy, and perfectly sweet. The burritos are amazing, though it’s suggested not to cut them in half through the foil. The restaurant has a casual tienda-based atmosphere with seating and a great selection of baked goods. The owner is polite and helpful, even explaining the free salsa flavors. Everything is authentic and made with love, making it a real deal for Mexican food in Ames. Cold Arizona tea and affordable prices add to the excellent eating experience.
