Best Taco John's is in Ames Iowa folks. If you are in Ames going to an ISU game, stop and grab a soft shell beef taco. You won't regret it, and it's not even expensive $2!!!

I hadn't been to Taco John's in many years and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The manager was very nice and took time to explain different menu options. And for fast food it was good!

The taco was too salty. The steak was burned. And 80 percent of the taco filled with lettuce. I ordered with uber eat. The rating was 4.6 there which is scam. The worst taco I ever eat. The worst meal I ever eat in my whole life. This restaurant must be closed due to the low quality. The food should go to trash

Asked for a regular mountain dew. Repeated my self. Even check with guy at window. Gave me diet I asked for regular I checked and he still messed it up. I think he did this on purpose.

I really like the food so it hurts me to write this. However, every time I have visited, a certain member of the staff has been very rude and passive aggressive. We've been yelled at multiple times. Even when our order was handed to us wrong, he would make it so it was our fault. I just know if I see John H. working, I will just have to brace myself for what will inevitably come. Food's good though.

Just left the Ames Taco John’s, food is ice cold!!! Ordered Super Potato Ole’s and a Super Burrito it is so cold the shredded cheese on it is not melted.
I also watch a young man mess up my order, when he went to the lady for help she just grabbed a hand full of my potato ole’s threw them away and handed the bowl back to the guy to finish my order. Complete disrespect for the customer.

We won’t be back, food has been going down hill but tonight was the worst. I’ve worked all day, I want to relax, and now I have to figure something out for supper!

Go to El Jefes!!!

The food is always mostly full of lettuce and maybe a small scoop of meat or without lettuce is mostly cheese then. But the food is fresh or seems to be hot at all times just don't know how to portion the food being sent out. The associates seem to be nice people tho!

Ordered at the drive thru. My husband ordered the large super burrito combo and an extra super burrito, and I ordered the large meat and potato burrito combo with chicken. We were on the interstate when we realized our order was wrong, so we paid $35 for 3 bean burritos and 2 small potato oles. The burritos were soggy, and the potato oles were burnt and so hard we couldn't eat them. 🤮

Worst Taco John's experience ever. Burnt and greasy potato oles. The Taco Bravo tasted greasy too. Overhead another customer saying " they gave me burnt Oles" We used to love stopping on our trip from Minneapolis to Omaha and Lincoln, NEVER AGAIN!!

The workers here are really nice. The food is okay enough, but the prices are quite high compared to what you get at Taco Bell for a similar amount of money. The standard tacos are always nice and full, but the burritos are kind of sad and underfilled. I also notice a weird temperature issue: many items are tepid or lukewarm even though I am eating them shortly after assembly. I think some of the bean and meat warmers (or wherever they store the food) are not kept hot enough. Also, sometimes the tortillas themselves are almost cold to the touch somehow? I generally would rather go to Taco Bell, but Taco John's has potato oles and those keep me coming back even when the rest is of the meal is meh.
