First time in Iowa and this was the place to go. Atmosphere was awesome, the fried Cod was the best I ever had, dessert was amazing, beer was ice cold. If you go to Ames, go to the Micky Duck!!!

Woke bar. Blm painting. Whatever bathrooms. I am more right leaning but some may not come here due to atmosphere. It was loud and busy. Food and service great. People say it's a college bar. I could not pay these prices as a college student. Poutine and Fish and chips amazing. Will come back for food not atmosphere.

The very first place that I eat at every time I come to Ames. The fish and chips are just as good as I got in England when I was on liberty there while in the Navy

Hubby and I stopped in for a late lunch and we tried several different foods. All was excellent and very different than what we are used to eating (American food). Everyone should try them out, if you're local you will be back. We are 3 hours away and I will be coming back. Shortbread is way better than those you get in a tin. My favorite was the pecan praline. Appetizers were delicious too, but scotch egg was fabulous! I'm gonna have to get a recipe for that 😋.
Friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, had some soft pop rock playing (which is my favorite). The walls have some awesome art on the wall, whoever did them, I hope they know they are professionally done.
No waiting, and received food fast. Food was hot and delicious. Would recommend. We spent more than a normal person would spend, because we wanted to try multiple items and it still wasn't that bad.
