Wallaby’s was one of my favorite places when I went to ISU. We’ve been back since both at the old location and new. The food is always great but the service is very lacking. Within the last year we’ve visited twice and both times the food took forever and the service was slow. Both times we had to get up and find someone to give us a box and the check. Sorry to see this Ames institution fall so far from the mark. Sad, but we are not going back.

Wallaby's is your average sports bar. The drinks were good and the food was pretty average. I had the Hickory Bacon burger. The flavor was balanced for the most part. Sometimes, the caramelized onions would overpower it, but it wasn't a terrible thing. I must have gotten the bottom of the frys because I got a whole bunch of smaller cold ones. The service was a bit slow, but I think it was because they were training a new server. Overall, it's pretty average, but...

Wonderful atmosphere on the rooftop deck! Good service and delicious food. Had the fish and chips and washed it down with a nice strong mango mule. They're on the spendy side for casual eats but great for a little splurge if you want to eat with a nice outdoor experience.
