My husband ate breakfast at Larry’s after overnighting in Anamosa for a wedding in Worthington. I read reviews before we went and told my husband it could be hit or miss based on those. When we arrived there were very few people at around 7:30 am on a Sunday. The upkeep on the place is minimal and even though Easter was in the rear view mirror, Christmas decorations still hung in a few places, as did Easter. The suspended ceiling needed paint, and many booths had the tears in the seats duct taped together. We were greeted promptly and told to take a seat wherever looked good. Our server got us our drinks (hot tea and a hot chocolate). The menu was quite large with a nice variety of breakfast options to choose from. My husband got half an order of biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs, which also includes hash browns. I went for the corned beef hash skillet (hash, onions, green peppers, hash browns, cheese and two over easy eggs) plus a side of toast. All of our food was very good and came to the table hot and fast. Prices were very affordable. If we are ever in Anamosa again at breakfast time (although Larry’s serves breakfast through the entirety of their open hours), we would definitely stop in again. Quaint small town feel, good service and good food at a great price. What’s not to like?
