Easy for a quick lunch.I went there with a gal pal of mine and we split a meal and got some pie.It wasn't too busy, so you could hear your own conversation. I really appreciate how the staff engaged in its customers, no matter what time of day.

Excellent in every way possible. We dined with Ankeny Cafe on 12/23 just before the holidays and the place was extremely busy and had a small number of staff, but let me tell you they operate incredibly efficiently and they don’t miss a beat! Our server and the cashier were incredibly polite, orders were accurate, and food was incredible. We all had breakfast items (omlets and classics) and cannot wait to go back. Support local and give this place a try!

This is my FAVORITE SPOT in Ankeny, and I’m SO HAPPY that Ankeny Cafe is open on Saturdays now!
I was only able to go every so often when they were just Mon-Fri, but now I’m sure I’ll be there almost every Saturday 🤩

Best breakfast in Ankeny. I cherish this spot, complete with a giant U-shaped counter for conversation with neighbors. A true piece of Americana: the local cafe.
