Pam and I met with my Class of 1968 at the Boulder Tap House in Ankeny Thursday for our monthly luncheon. This restaurant is pretty new and we've been wanting to try it out and lucky for us my class of 1968 chose it. I ordered a Cuban Sandwich which featured sliced ham, pork carnitas, Swiss cheese, red cabbage, sliced pickles and Dijonnaise served on a pressed ciabatta loaf. For my side I picked a cup of Black Bean Chili, topped with shredded cheese. Both were clear off the charts delicious. Pam ordered a Bacon Boulder Smash Burger which features two smashed 4oz Angus burger patties, 2 slices of American cheese, pecan smoked bacon, Pabst onions, Alabama white sauce and butter leaf lettuce, tomato and pickles. Served on a toasted bun. I didn't have a chance to try a bite but she was exceedingly pleased with her pick, neither one of us left remotely hungry. Our server did an amazing job, despite the fact we were a large group, our orderers were quickly taken and arrived at our table promptly. Pam and I will for sure be returning next time we're in Ankeny and hungry, lots of really good tasty entrees to try.

I was going through town and I noticed this restaurant. Upon entering the staff was extremely polite. The atmosphere is clean and the employees are constantly on the move assisting customer or cleaning. Jennifer the bartender was very kind and patient and was customer friendly which you don’t see that much often. If I lived here I would return primarily for her and then the food.

Our prior visit was in anticipation of dining with the 13 members of our family. We dined on Sunday and had a wonderful experience. A few of us have dietary restrictions, and every entree arrived exactly how we had requested. It was just perfect! Our waitress was so patient and attentive. Don't forget to order the cube cheese curds!! And get at least two orders; you'll regret it if you don't!! Yummy!! Our son mentioned that we should try the Boulder Tap House for lunch. We noticed the rating on the review but were somewhat hesitant. WOW--we were pleasantly surprised!! The food and service were excellent. We will definitely be back.

Abigail is super sweet, quick, and attentive. She is a highly skilled waitress, excellent friendliness and outgoing demeanor. The ambiance is also remarkable. And the food is amazing for the price!!

We were there around 2:00 in the afternoon. My sister order a shrimp avocado sandwich. It’s was trouble. Also onions rings she had to pay extra for them. I ordered chicken strips and they were greasy. The prices were to high. For what you got. Disappointed we are trying to fine new places to eat in ANKENY. So sorry this will not be one of them.

The food is delicious! I love the versatile beer menu, everything is always fresh and cold. We had a couple minor snafus and the manager Jennifer was so understanding and fixed everything. We definitely will be back. Also love the different seasonings for the beer battered fries.

Wings were OK, had mango habanero, not hot at all, flavor so so. Had garlic Parmesan wing as well, also so so. Service terrible at 2:00pm, bar tender took 10 minutes to get my drink and take my order. She sang out loud to every song and she can’t sing. Took forever to get a 2nd beer and it took 15 minutes after I was done to pay. I don’t recommend this to anyone. Under staffed and no experience.
