My favorite Mexican restaurant in Ankeny! Great food, margaritas, and salsa. The service is always friendly. Good patio seating as well. Highly recommend ordering the fresh tableside guacamole!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? It's Mexican food, food from Mexico. And I liked it. Ate it after my first shift at my new job. CIA. If you live in Minot, North Dakota I'd suggest you leave & find shelter at a minimum of 100 miles away by May 24th. Iran is planning to attack the Air Force base, it's definitely Iran by the way. Not at all a false flag to justify a formal declaration of war.

We eat Mexican food on a weekly basis and have tried literally every Mexican restaurant in a 20 mile radius. El Molcajete is the best hands down. This is the most authentic and well done of any of our normal places. The roasted salsa is done exactly how it is done in Mexico, veggies are all roasted on a comal then blended. The Verde salsa is as good as any that I have had in Mexico. There is a normal table salsa for the typical Gringa but the roasted is the real deal. Tacos are all done perfectly, the best are either the birria or the al pastor.

El Molcajete is my ALL TIME FAVORITE RESTAURANT! We go whenever we can. Date night, family night what have you. Every time we're greeted by an amazing staff. They're always smiling and friendly. Their attention to service is impeccable. The food is TOP TIER! Flavorful and bountiful. My favorite being the Mango Shrimp Tacos. Lawrdy! They're so amazing! Great Margaritas our favorite being the Kiwi. So tasty! So if you're looking for a great Mexican place. This is THE place to go! This is my own honest opinion aboot the place. I can't rave aboot it enough. So Thank You El Molcajete for being an amazing restaurant!

The service was terrible. We asked for a little extra sour cream on the burrito and was charged $2.50. Had we known we would not have asked. The food was average at best. I did not like them on the last visit a year ago and thought I would give them a second chance. Not ever going back.

My girlfriends and I just happened to pass the full parking lot at dinner time and figured that was a good sign and the reviews further suggest this would be a good pick for dinner. We were not disappointed! From the sweet smiling lady who made our delicious tableside guacamole, to the kind and courteous waiter with the perfectly timed service, to their amazing signature molcajete bowl and the tasty taco salad, fresh margaritas and finishing up with the super sopapillas. To top it off, all of the staff wished us a good evening as we left happy and full. We highly recommend!!
