Food was OK, but service was not. Waited over 15 minutes for a waiter to come to our table. Plus they got my order wrong. Didn't say anything since I knew it would be a while before they came back to our table, and it was. I'd get the food again, but probably take out.

Not happy with waiter. Rushed service. He ordered regular Taco salad instead of Fajita Salad I asked for. It was basically a fried tortilla bowl half full of chicken, a few lettuce leaves and a dollop of sour cream. Not what I call a Taco salad. Not a good experience..

We went in for a late lunch and the service was spectacular as was the food.
Absolutely love this place! It's our favorite eatery in all of Ankeny. On Tuesdays and during happy hour(m-f 11-5) you can get 5 or $6 giant margaritas. The food is excellent and the servers are great. They all know my girl is trying to learn Spanish and will exclusively speak to her in Spanish. We bring all our friends and family here. If you're looking for some good Mexican food this place is a no-brainer.

I was really excited to find a new "go to" Mexican restaurant! The atmosphere was wonderful! The unique floors, the lighting. I loved the background music! At first, our waiter was excellent! The mojito he prepared was THE BEST!We ordered. The food came out, and kinda of "tossed" our plates on the table. We had to ask for silverware and napkins. We smiled, as the food looked delish! It was. Our waiter came by, filled the water glasses...and POOF he was gone, never to be seen again. I would have loved to have ordered another mojito, but it wasn't meant to be. Alas, we finished our food. We loved it!Then, we waited....and waited...and waited some more..about 20 minutes after we had finished, our waiter appears..and we paid.They lost out on making additional sales. We are so disappointed. Maybe not have your waitstaff sit at a table and gossip? Also, don't forget about your guest. So sad. We won't return.

Just go to Flame Cantina where you won't be over charged as well disappointed. I looked at the reviews as I often do when deciding where to go and what to order. Food, restaurant and service was ok, not good enough that we will return. Biggest issue is the overcharging. Which someone else posted to look out for. The sever even "confirmed" prior to entering into the handheld machine what we ordered before giving us our bill. My spouse ordered chicken fajitas but was charged for mixed grill, $3.00 more. I ordered shrimp tacos and was charged $16.00, not the $14.00 as listed on the menu. I highly suggest asking to "see" your actual bill prior to having to sign for it. The manager was obviously annoyed he had to give us our $5.00 back. He blamed it on owners changing prices in the system. Um, change the menu prices before changing prices in the system. Also don't confirm chicken fajitas but then immediately put the charge in for mix grill.
