Flavory Bistro

Had the best salad + chicken (cooked perfectly). Salad isn't usually my go to but I'm glad I tried theirs, it was so delicious and fresh!

While in Ankeny a few weeks ago, my friend suggested the Flavory Bistro. I had the Chicken Bowl and it was delicious. The seasoned vegetables, rice and chicken all had such wonderful flavor. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Amazing and high quality dishes! Our waiter was incredibly attentive and helped cater our meals to meet our dietary needs.

I ordered a special catering meal for a family dinner and was absolutely blown away by both the service and the food! They went above and beyond—creating a custom menu just for us, making flatbread per my special request (even a gluten-free version!), and communicating quickly and kindly throughout the whole process. When I came to pick it up, the staff was so friendly and welcoming—they even had me sampling things at the counter! I genuinely felt like I was at home. Everything was delicious, and I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!

This was not in any way the servers fault. He was all alone, both waiting tables and answering the phone, although he was terribly grumpy ( as was I eventually) The food came out piecemeal, first a kids meal, then a smoothy, then a full 45 minutes later, the adult meals. The food was tasty. A woman wandered around talking to customers she knew, doing nothing to help the overwhelmed waiter. My to go order was thrown on our table, then later our check, but no one came near to let us pay. I had finally had it and flagged down the woman who flagged down the waiter who acted like he would rather spit on me than take my money. Left with my stone cold to go order. Oh Joy.

I have been to Greece and this does not taste anywhere near real Greek food. It’s dry, flavorless, and not fresh. On top of that the servers are rude to customers, argue with employees, and the older guy yells at his employees in front of customers.

My first experience I ordered a vegetarian pasta dish and specified dietary needs. The dish came out with pieces of meat, and when I asked why the server said the dish is frozen and when they cook it they just strain the meat out of it. The manager with the iPad purse eventually came around and noticed I wasn’t eating it. I explained why and he apologized but did not offer to refund or replace.

My second experience I got takeout soup. Halfway through my drive the soup melted the cups. I had to return twice and on the third time the blonde cook accused me of trying to get free food because “this has never happened to anyone else”. The iPad purse manager came up to defend me because I had laid out four bags of melted soup on their counter. The family got into a screaming fight in front of the whole restaurant, which I really regret not recording. They eventually just offered me cold cans of soup!! So I just left and I will never be back.

Great vegan options. Was initially skeptical with the price but definitely worth it.

Great, friendly service! My husband and I had the gyro bowls and they were to die for! Used such fresh ingredients, meat was delicious, and everything was quick! We could also tell they were very thorough in their cleaning. Also very family friendly. Love this place!
