Fong's Pizza Ankeny

We had the Thai and crab ragoon pizza. Love their consistently good pizza! Great service and friendly staff!

Fong’s always has great food. They’re consistent and I would consider the establishment “An Iowa Staple”. I wanted to mention too that as my mom and I were sat down for dinner tonight, we noticed it was taking longer than normal for the waiter/waitress to see us. As we noticed (maybe after a total of 10 minutes or so), someone stopped by apologizing that we had been missed. We had no problem with the wait, just noticed it had taken a little longer than normal. They offered us a free appetizer and continued apologizing for the mix up. I just have to applaud the staff. That is the kind of “Iowa Nice” customer service that will keepme coming back for years and years to come. If you haven’t tried this unique dining experience, I would very highly recommend it, especially they’re staple, the Crab Rangoon pizza. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my first time ever trying Fong's Pizza. I have heard many good things about the place so had to try myself. I came in from out of town just to try it. I was NOT disappointed at all. The atmosphere was amazing, we sat down to order and Zach N was our waiter. He went above and beyond. We did not want for anything, I had a to go order, he put that in last for us, and even went the extra step to take pics of the shirts and hoodies so I could see what they had. All in all it was an amazing experience and I will be back!!! Great job Fong's!!! :)

Pretty cool place! Had heard about it from media and friends. Wasn't too busy for a late Saturday afternoon but it really picked up. Huge selection of beer. There should be something for everyone. Pizza was really good. In my opinion the Mac & Cheese pizza was best! They said the Crab Rangoon was the most popular. Will try that the next time we go. Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. They didn't mind that part of our party was late. They even changed the channel to a game we wanted to see. Great place! Definitely going back!

This is one place that is on our “must eat” list when we visit Iowa twice a year. I always have the crab rangoon pizza (delicious). I have yet to be disappointed. Hubby tried different ones and got an egg roll pizza this time. Both were great choice. The only downside to our visit this time is that it took forever for our food to come out and when it did it was only lukewarm as if it had been sitting there. Everything is normally great from service to food, so we are chalking it up to them having an off night and we will be back.

Friends told us when in Iowa you can’t pass Fong’s pizza…they were so right. We were in Ankeny for our nephews wedding and a bunch of us dropped in. The Crab Rangoon pizza is a must try as well as General Tso’s chicken pizza. We also tried a Main Street which was traditional, but also very very good. For apps try the meat egg rolls and parm bites. Salads were fine. Excellent, friendly service. Lots to see and do in this destination mall, attractions, shopping Mecca. We’d definitely go again.

I just absolutely love their crab rangoon pizza. $26 for a large. We nearly get it every time we also tried their street taco pizza which was really good as well and quite a bit unique from a standard taco pizza. Our service was great and the restaurant was pretty clean.

Not sure what the hype is all about, Mediocre food with Mediocre service, the only thing worth paying for was the parm bites, the honey garlic pizza had very little flavor. Definitely not worth what we paid.

We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar for an appetizer (egg rolls) and beverage after a long day, it was super great! The staff were also exceptional; always super friendly and check on you as needed. Go here probably once a month on average and we’ve yet to be disappointed & would highly recommend.

For all the hype that this restaurant gets, I have to say that the pizzas were not the best. What was really good was the nachos!! The service was also great. Our server recommended the nachos and kept up on refills of our drinks. We also sat outside this trip.

The Ramen pizza, Thai pizza, and Orange Chicken pizza are amazing. I've tried the General Tsos pizza but the baby corn and water chestnuts have this flavor that it comes in a can. Plus the diced roasted red bell pepper is too much. This pizza could be improved, but like the spiciness.My dad loved the totchos. We liked the unique crab ragoon egg rolls that had cheese and sweet sour sauce.I wish there was a Fong's in Minneapolis as I love the restaurant concept!

We had a decent experience when we went this time. The food wasn't as good as the first time we were there. It wasn't bad, just not as good. There was a 25 minute wait to get our food and only 1 other table. We will definitely go back because the peanut Thai Sticks are fabulous! But, the parmesan bites were not good. Do not get those. Ever.

Ah the proverbial child of the Cedar Rapids restaurant. Albeit in a different part of this city, with less nostalgia around. However, the recipes are exactly the same as the original. The original quickly became a favorite of ours, we often name it as one of our top three must eat in the Midwest. So when you have that high of an expectation, the nut better not fall far from the tree.And it doesn't.First the drinks, always a great selection and crafted to perfection.The appetizer, this one was the Crab Rangoon Egg Rolls, just like the first time. Eggscellent!Then on to the main dish; sure you can try a wrap, or something else on the menu. But when it comes to great pizza. Well park the bus, and sit down for a taste of something above the restaurant chains. The crust isn't overpowering, it carries the load of ingredients just as it should be. And the toppings are fresh. How can you tell? Trust me you can.This restaurant is as good as the original.

Great atmosphere, very unique and delicious pizza, and over 40 beers on tap! Definitely worth the visit.

I ordered pizza and pre paid online and got a confirmation for my order. When I arrived to get my pizzas the staff said they never received the order and so I told them I had my confirmation email and everything. They never received it cause they didn’t have the device turned on to receive the order. They did a good job of putting the order right away and cooking the pizza quickly once I was there but I asked if they were going to charge me the full amount for the pizza sense I had to wait at the store for it because they never placed it and was told there was nothing they could do sense I already paid. I understand that mistakes happen but was very frustrated that I had to stand there and wait while 8 months pregnant with my 3 year old daughter waiting in the car with my husband and staff didn’t not seem to care or compensate their mistake.
