Great food! The love the owner and his wife put into getting excellent vegetables they use to food preparation , how they cook, food comes out absolutely fabulous! If you want authentic, superb, high quality food, this is the place! No loading orange chicken with sugar, you get actual orange chicken! Excellent!

Cute place in Ankeny hidden behind a gas station. The restaurant is small. Can probably seat 20 people. You order at the counter and pick your protein, starch and sauce. Overall I enjoyed this place! The flavor of the braised meat felt familiar and comforting. They also serve vegetables with the meal so it felt somewhat like a healthy rice bowl. Also thought the small size was plenty-I didn’t even finish it. Would definitely come back!

At this location you can build your own bowl full of toppings, noodles/rice, etc.

If you prefer the greasy/extra sweet taste of other American-Chinese places, then this place may not be for you.

I think everything is way *fresher* and less sugary here. The flavor relies on umami from the meat and the lighter sauces you choose from.

It’s pretty quick and the take out containers are great! Staff are also very nice in my experience. I’ve been here quite a few times!

The best Chinese restaurant in this area. I love the braised pork and crispy tenderloin. The fried rice with wok hay is very delicious. The staff are friendly, too! It's a must-visit restaurant if you pass by.

Nice staff and good food. Was thrilled they had gluten free options on the main menu. Chinese food and gluten free don't often go together, so really thankful they offer them!

This is the best Chinese cuisine in Ankeny easily, and very likely in the entire DSM metro. The food is phenomenal, the service is great, and the value is top notch. Thank you for a great meal, I'll be back!

Stopped here on a road trip because the Find Me Gluten Free app said that they made GF options. They made gluten free sesame chicken (and other things) which was delicious! My other family members had orange chicken and liked that also. The service was friendly and helpful. The only downside to this place is limited indoor seating (only 3 tables), but we went at a non busy time so it was great.

This is not your typical Chinese food restaurant. This isn't a chain restaurant. This guy uses fresh ingredients daily.

The menu is small but you can have your familiar dishes, just in a little different (fresh) way! The braised beef with noodles was amazing. Big, fresh crunchy, veggies.

The small bowl was a very generous portion. I brought at least half home.

Ordering is easy.

You order your protein choice, then your rice or noodle choice, then choose your sauce.

Just go support a local owner trying to bring a fresh spin to Asian cuisine and doing a great job!! I'd like to see him succeed so I can keep going! LoL
