Wow, what a place to go! The food is AMAZING and the staff are so friendly. We were stopping thru on our way to Missouri and this place came highly recommended. For about $32(tip included), we both got two meals' worth of food in each dish and two spam masubi.

The picture provided was AFTER we'd already eaten half. Well worth the price!

Haven’t found Hawaiian BBQ this good in years. In town for a few days and will likely eat there every day.

Hands down one of my favorite food places in central Iowa. Always fresh, hot and so good. You also cannot beat the price when eating out. Every time we have out of state company we take them here and every time they are shocked to find an amazing Hawaiian grill in central Iowa.

Delicious food ? Good size portions. Plate lunche style ?? My favorite is the Chicken Katsu & Kalbi Shortribs combo which comes with rice & mac salad. They also play island style music ?❤️??

Great place to get your Hawaiian bbq fix. Portion sizes are large. Macaroni salad side is delish. I usually get their bbq chicken but their other meals are good too. Their crab rangoons are hands down THE best in Des Moines area!

I ordered from this place a handful of times, and for the most part the food is ok. Today however, it was not good. I worked up an appetite for dinner and was sadly disappointed. The meat tasted like it been out for a couple of days. There was an obnoxious amount of water in the meal. I don’t think I’ll be eating here again unfortunately.

I've been to Alohana more than a few times now and I love it. There aren't a lot of Hawaiian restaurants in the midwest, never mind Iowa so this is such a treat.

The food is exactly what you'd expect if you've had Hawaiian food before, and if you haven't just know it's delicious. The portion sizes are pretty huge too for the price and the menu has such a wide variety to chose from, though many dishes feature similar elements (such as the Katsu Chicken and Volcano Chicken).

Your food is cooked to order and it can on occasion get quite busy so do expect to wait a few minutes for your order. If you sit down they usually give you a pager so you know when it's ready. But if it's not terribly busy they may just call you out.

The only real let down for me is the restaurant itself is a little dull, they play Hawaiian music but otherwise it's just a bit drab. It doesn't matter much but it would be nice to see them lean more into the Hawaiian theme more given it's unique visual style. I'd also like to see the inclusion of Coke/Pepsi Zero Sugar options that go beyond just diet and the inclusion of nutritional/calorific information on their menu or website.
