We went to Hokkiado Ramen House on 4/1/2024 and the food came quick and it was so good! Also the ambience was perfect and customer service was excellent! whenever I want to eat ramen, I will always come to this place. Excellent restaurant, baby!

I just tried this for lunch and it was a very good experience. It's fairly new so they are still decorating but the space is setup well and very comfortable. I was seated promptly and service was great throughout the meal. I got gyoza and tantanmen ramen. The gyoza was cooked well and the sauce was delicious. The tantanmen ramen very good, everything seemed fresh and the broth was incredible flavorful. I hope to come back and try all the other flavors of ramen on the menu!

Tried this place with a few friends on Saturday! Food was good, atmosphere was amazing, and (like someone else mentioned!) there were multiple servers checking on us throughout the meal!

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience at this little gem of a restaurant! Every aspect of our dinner was top notch. We were seated at the last available booth. I was initially nervous since the tables are closed together but we never felt crowded and had plenty of space to ourselves. There were 2 or 3 different employees we interacted with from being seated, ordering and delivering food. Each one was amazing. Our order was taken quickly and (non-specialty) drinks arrived at the table moments later. The pork bun appetizer was at the table within 5 minutes. The pork buns aren't bao style but folded to look like tacos. Which meant there is a much better filling to bread ratio. Flavor was on point, the dough is perfectly soft and fluffy but still holds up while eating. I highly recommend it!Our ramen arrived just as we finished the pork buns and I was delighted by both presentation and portion size. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen with an extra egg and my friend got the Spicy Beef ramen. The eggs were perfectly cooked and yolks were silky and delicious. We both got our spicy and it was a pleasant heat that builds as you eat.The service through the whole meal was the perfect balance of there when you need something without being overly available. Our drinks were never empty and refills arrived promptly. I really like that the tables have napkins, straws and chopsticks at the tables which was great since we ended up needing a few napkins each as we slurped our ramen. It truly baffles me that this location used to be a franchise taco place. The lighting and music is very cozy and makes the overall vibe intimate. The interior design is very organic with lots of stained wood which softens the aesthetic and I really liked both the light fixtures and the softer temp bulbs used, again adding to the chill vibe. I definitely found my new favorite spot to dine in Ankeny.

I think this place was great! I went yesterday around 6pm which was not bad at all. I went with one other person and we were sat down immediately. The waiter was very attentive. He asked us for refills before we even noticed our drinks were halfway empty. The bao buns were definitely top tier for me. Also got the shrimp shumai. Love it I just wish they were bigger because they were so good! I think the price is well adjusted for this place. I got the spicy beef ramen which honestly was not that spicy but that's okay! (As someone who loves spicy food, it's not that spicy but some people might think it's incredibly spicy). Well decorated place. We asked about the noodles because they tasted homemade. Which we were right! They said they make the noodles themselves and put it through a machine that cuts the noodles into perfect slices. Overall would definitely come back with friends.

Best ramen I have ever had. Delicious food for a good price. Service was great, fast, and attentive. I look forward to bringing my friends and family here in the near future.

I placed an online order for the family. When we arrived, there was a mishap with my order. The young lady working the front desk, Korrina acknowledged the mistake and was more than happy to rectify the situation. She was super apologetic and really nice about all of it. We got the food home and it was amazing!!!! We will be going again

My spouse and I went the other night. The service was decent but awkward. The atmosphere was kinda mixed. On one side you had loud drinking games and one side the booths for folks just eating. The "buns" were not buns. They were like tasteless thick tortillas with a modicum of filling, which by itself, was okay. The takoyaki was not fully cooked through properly and contained only the smallest two chunks of octopus (tako). The ramen itself was decent, but nothing to write home about. It is similar to the ramen of Wasabi, a local Korean-dominant Asian fusion chain. Overall, we felt it was rather lackluster. The worst part was the food quality. However, given the prices, which are significantly less than other comparable local Asian restaurants, this is an example of "you get what you pay for".

Best ramen in the town. Friendly service and good vibe. I like their spicy beef ramen & fried calamari.

very unwelcoming place, odd for a place that just opened up. i went with a party of 4 and we ordered drinks, entrees and appetizers.they sat people next to us despite the restaurant being empty. the flavored lemonades weren’t anything special.we ordered bang bang shrimp as an appetizer. probably the only good thing we ate but how can you mess up bang bang shrimp lol.we ordered two ramen sets, a couple rolls and a chicken katsu. i asked for mine extra spicy he looked at me so confused and told me “no, only no spicy, medium or spicy” (????? what????)spicy beef ramen 6/10 : spicy and good toppings. the flavor was lacking and it’s have to eat with a big beef bone just sitting in the bowl. meat was chewy and not tender.tantan ramen 6/10 : it was alright, serving size was good.sushi rolls 8/10 : good rice to filling ratio. came with your usual ginger and soy. nothing to complain about.chicken katsu 4/10 : very messy presentation. just threw on mini chicken bites with rice and called it a day. the kani salad was a nice touch but nothing was special about the sauce or the meal.overall, the service was horrible. they did not refill our waters or check in on us. we asked for another blueberry lemonade and he brought back a water telling us we can’t get a refill. assuming he knew that it was okay to charge us for another blueberry lemonade… which was what we wanted so he brought back a water instead.overall i spent close to $100 on the restaurant for it to be a horrible experience. will not be back.

This should be the third time returning to this restaurant, and the food remains exceptionally great and sophisticated. I sincerely hope this Japanese restaurant can become the best one around. This time, I also discovered they offer beer and sake, and I heard they will introduce a seasonal menu and more interactions with customers later on. The atmosphere this place offers is just wonderful. Everyone is so enthusiastic, and they patiently explained the differences in each ramen to my wife and me (since my wife can only eat gluten-free food) and even made a special effort to prepare a completely gluten-free bowl of ramen for us. We are truly grateful and will definitely come back again.
