Service is not what what it used to be here. Visited yesterday and our server never came back to our table a single time after we got our food for drink refills, checking on us or even giving us our bill. Food is still good though. So many places to eat in Ankeny, I doubt we go back.
Graded on a curve with other Mexican restaurants, this one had me wanting...My wife got fajita trio which she said was good. I got a taco burrito enchilada and tamale. Chicken tamale w/white sauce was good, but the rest was lacking flavor (IMO). The meat needed to be seasoned, the red sauce tasted like tomato paste and water, and the salsa was plain tasting.

Great wait staff. We didn't have to ask for anything. I had the Tacos Carnitas. Fantastic! My son had a burrito that could have fed the whole table. Definitely going again to the Ankeny location.
Lived in Texas for 10 years. Was visiting family and went there. One of the best Mexican dinners I've had.
