Porofinos resturant is a Italian gem in ankeny. Great food served hot. we had stuffed manicotti and the pasta sampler it was awesome. the service was exceptional our server was Richelle, the resturant was very clean the music in background was set at a volume that you could listen and still have a conversation. Looking forward to returning

I went there for my first time and picked up a carry out order. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind. I ordered the chicken piccata lunch special. It came with a salad and some garlic knots with it, all for under $20. Once I got home (I live 30 minutes away) and the food was still plenty warm. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious! I’m definitely going to come back!

This restaurant offers food that truly stands alongside San Diego's top Italian establishments! I was completely blown away by the quality of my filet, the unique and delicious chicken alfredo pizza, and the perfect cannoli. Our waitress, Jorie, deserves immense credit for her incredible patience with our large party of 20 and all the kids. The only aspect preventing a full five-star rating for atmosphere is the manager, Simon. His treatment of staff is disappointing, and I've heard this contributes to a high turnover rate. For the sake of the business and its valuable employees, Simon needs to reconsider his approach to staff management.

First time here an we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is comfortable, the staff is friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. The bread is the cherry on top. The portion and quality for the price stands out as an outstanding value. If you’re near Ankeny, find your way to Portofino’s - you won’t be disappointed!

The service was excellent !! The prices were very reasonable.The atmosphere was just average, But was very neat, tidy, and well organized. I had the baked ravioli pasta. I wasn’t overly impressed with it. The cheese on top was a little on the burnt side. I would’ve preferred a more tomato Marinara, instead of what seemed to me to be more of a vodka Marinara sauce. I would have liked Something different than just ricotta stuffed in the ravioli. Maybe different cheeses Or possibly a cheese and spinach mixture. The meatballs that I ordered were very reasonably priced and were pretty good. One person at our table had the chicken Parmesan that looked very good. The kids got pizza, That looked fantastic. I was a little disappointed that, when we asked for Parmesan cheese, it came in packets instead of a glass shaker. We couldn’t get the Parmesan cheese packets opened up so we did without.
We will definitely come back, but I will probably order the chicken Parm or a small pizza.

Everything was excellent. The garlic knots are a little tough but we had this soup of the day come out that was zucchini potatoe cream soup. I dipped the garlic knots in it and that was beyond amazing. The soup was outstanding. Fair priced. Great waitress. Tortellini was excellent. This place is a gem. Must go if you like Italian.

We had a family reunion here. Party of 23. Our waitress was awesome! Very polite and attentive to our needs. Food was delivered in a timely manner and we all could eat at pretty much the same time. Everyone raved about how delicious their food was. We are from out of town but will definitely be eating here again when in the area.

We had the lasagna. There wasn't much consistency, kind of flat & the tomato sauce was ok but was on the sour side of tomato flavor. The rolls look amazing and I expected a butter garlic or Italian flavor. They just didn't have really any flavor.
