Picture speaks for itself, I finished it all before I remembered to take a picture. I was that entranced by the ice cream. Coffee icecream is my absolute favorite and this is made with real coffee. I was in icecream heaven.My daughter had fun watching them make it too!Definitely going to be making more trips to Ankeny just for this icecream! ?

Brought my two kiddos and they loved the pre made chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches. I had the Peanut Butter Party and it was awesome! Very cool atmosphere, lots of options, and great service. This will be our “ice cream date with Dad” spot for many years.

My kids and I LOVE Sweet Swirls. They are locally owned and a great place to visit. The options are endless, if you're new, you can try one of their mixes or you can create your own. My son loves the "Fluffy Unicorn" which is fruity pebbles and marshmallow sauce. My favorite is a make your own and I do Coffee flavored ice cream with Almonds and Graham Crackers then add chocolate sauce. *insert drool*The staff is amazing and very friendly!
Lovely little rolled ice cream place in Ankeny. The ice cream is prepared in front of you. I was very curious about the process. I created my own mixture and got coffee ice cream as the base. I learned that instead of using coffee flavored ice cream, they use their own vanilla base and add a scoop of finely ground coffee beans and then mix that up. The flavor was impeccable. Authentic coffee ice cream. I got fruity pebbles and cinnamon toast crunch with marshmallow topping. The person who made my ice cream also held great convo while making my mix. Everything was awesome

So tasty! And a fun experience! We tried several of the "Fan Favorites" including Deez Nuts, S'mores and Morning Delight! They use a butane torch and actually toasted a marshmallow!

For six years I have been a recurring client of Sweet swirls rolled ice cream visiting every weekend until I moved to Cedar Rapids which is two hours away and makes it difficult for me to visit. We came back to this place after almost two years of not visiting, excited to finally eat our favorite ice cream. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy our visit as the service was simply not fair. Rolled ice cream is supposed to be in a roll but the person who made our ice cream, Reah, was clearly not trying. Their demeanor throughout our visit was outright rude and we could tell that they were not even trying to make our ice cream correctly as they served a bunch of crumbled pieces in the cup. They did not apologize even as they saw the obvious disappointment in our faces. I wish I'd realized I could share a picture to show how poorly made my ice cream was. We visited this place excited to once again eat our favorite desert only to be disappointed by their surprisingly poor service. I
I work in food service so I'm not one to complain, but I went here last night with my boyfriend to get some ice cream and I was very upset with what we received.There was a younger girl making our ice cream and she did not clean any utensils or the metal pan they roll the ice cream on in between customers. The utensils she used were visibly dirty and so my Oreo ice cream ended up being half fruity pebbles because that's what the person ahead of me ordered. I thought she could have at least rinsed them off before making our order.Their ice cream tastes great but I would definitely be worried about cross contamination, especially if you have any allergies.She even told my boyfriend, who got vanilla ice cream, that his would taste like chocolate because that's what I got. Very disappointing because the location in Bondurant was so good! Maybe it was just that one experience, but it set me off from this place in the future.

Rolled ice cream is the real deal! It's actually made in front of you and it really is a kind of art. They get the toppings evenly spread and mixed in to add flavor and texture to every bite. Pictured is the "cookie monster," which is full of cookie dough and Oreos. Totally delicious. There's inside and outside seating and the vibes are just right.
